Yes so far so many decades, never have bad news about peasants lost all their fd.

The bad news is FD rate is lower than inflation now. Sg inflation about 3% yearly so in the end will lose out 1.5% yearly even at 1.5% interest rate

retirees dun care about inflation.

they just worried about their principle sum whether protected or not cos thats more important than the interest they received

no point give them 10% then next moment half their principle sum gone when market crashes and they can never save back this amount of money since they stopped working.

Buy good dividend stocks but most already went up liao.

Still I am very optimistic on S Reits in the long term 😀

I spoke to retirees, mamy same answer, that is, they dnt spend much once hit retirement age.

This is what i heard from colleagues and friends.
saying when one grow old near retirement age, best is to have min investment but risk free FD.
low risk yes. there is no such thing as risk free

fd and ssb. Ssb back by gahmen. Got risk?
Fd is protected SDIC 100k. If placed fd with local 3 banks and you worry risk then Singapore will be in trouble.
Unless you talking about buying stocks or mutual fund
