The hard truth is that the Master degrees are recognised by MOE for their higher mgmt jobs.

For example, the school VP positions tend to require Master degrees in Edn Mgmt, and/or Instructional Design & Technology.

can share what field?
Something to do with the environment. I love our planet and is very concern about climate change, GHG emissions, plastic wastes, circularity, etc. Unfortunately many in EDMW think these things are a sham, judging from the posts I've seen in this forum.. ☹️

Alumni but can't remember got discount or not. Cheap is mainly because over 40 yo got government subsidy.

Students who are Singapore Citizens, aged 40 and above (based on the year which the student turns 40 years old) and
enrolled in MOE-subsidised coursework programmes may be eligible for higher subsidy under the SkillsFuture Mid-Career
Enhanced Subsidy. The fees payable will be 60% lower than the standard subsidised fees payable by other Singaporean
students.

actually above 40 yrs old take technical master is kind of slow because usually the modules learnt you already know most of it already. hence you won't find beneficial taking technical master unless u are switching industry
and your classmates are usually mid 20s to mid 30s
By the way, not ALL Masters programmes (in NTU/NUS) got subsidy!

Many NUS postgraduate (MSc) programmes are not subsidised. Meaning pay fee!
Look at MSc Safety Health and Evn Tech. (>S$40K)
