It's Barbecue Time Again!!!

It wasn't too long ago when we were feasting and chit chatting the night away at this BBQ. No sooner in March and we were invited to yet another BBQ cum birthday party, this time at HomeTeamNS Pasir Ris Chalet.

Catered Foods

Fried Kway Teow Mee

Curry Chicken was nice and tender while the potato was soft and flavourful.

Stir Fried Mix Vegetables

Braised Pork Belly was sedap. Had many helpings of the tender fatty meat with the bun.

The Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet was good, not too much batter coating so you can still taste the fish.

My aunt said she like this Hei Zho (Deep Fried Prawn Roll) a lot. Will be even better if served hot.

Deep Fried Battered Scallops - Look nice but doesn't taste good enough.

Oatmeal Prawns - Though the prawns were not hot but they were fresh. Had too many that I lost count.

These few dishes came out much later as host was holding some back for those guests who arrived late.

Pineapple Fried Rice - By then I was too full to eat it.

Prawn Fritters - Nice but would be better if hot.

Curry Mutton cannot compare to the one that my uncle cooked. These were on the tough side.

Waiting to be BBQed - The host had also prepared a couple of chilli sauces for the BBQ especially the seafood.

Whole Squids - Heard they have some more in the fridge for later consumption.

Chicken Wings marinated in Thai Sauce

Frozen Chicken Wings - These were lightly marinated in salt and to be brushes with honey and butter during BBQ.

Pork and Chicken Satays

Sweet Corns - Brush with butter and wrap they in aluminum foil then dump into the fire.

Limes to go with the squids and prawns.

BBQ Chicken Wings with Thai Marinate - The Thai sauce lent the wings a a slightly spicy taste which goes very well with the smokey fragrant of the grill.

Prawns with Chilli Sauce on Foil - Some of the guests deshelled the prawns and cooked them with the chilli sauce and lime juice.
