Last night, a few of us went to try Teochew Traditional Steamboat at Joo Chiat.
Reach liao . . . sign board says 不好吃不收钱
We ordered a few must-try cooked dishes. My fave PK, nice and crispy. My dinning partner commented that there is a slight herbal taste and he is right cos it's seasoned with many chinese herbs and even ginseng. Would be even better if it's more fatty.
Brinjal with pork floss. It's worth cheating on this. It's very crispy and fragrant. For those who dare not eat brinjal, this is a good dish to start to overcome your dislike for the purple.

Next, the steamboat!!
The soup based cost $10. But one of the best i have had. The soup is very nice on its own even before putting in any ingredients.
We ordered a few items for the steamboat. Home made fish + meat ball. My dinner partner like the balls cos he say it's very QQ. I took 1 to try and i must say it's really fresh and nice.
Fish wanton. Also home made
Sotong paste. Also home made.
Beef
Pork belly
We did order other items like fish kway teow, bean curd skin and veg but i too busy eating, forgot took pictures.
Overall, the dinner was good. I will go back again cos the dishes are very fresh and the soup base is jin ho lim. Most of the items are home made so the taste is special, not those usual off the shelve fish/meat balls. Service is very fast too.

We contined with second round at 112 Katong but no pictures
