Hi travelers. I am thinking of going KL city area to shop and eat for a day. I know we can fly from SG to KL, and take some bus/train to the city? Can anyone provide full details on this? Such as the link to book the bus/train from Kl airport to the city for shopping?

Thank you.

If you are take budget flight, most probably your flight will stop at LCCT. From LCCT, there are several buses that goes to KL city. StarShuttle express actually goes to Puduraya, near the to China town, while other buses such as Aeroexpress, actually stops at KL Sentral. Both places are around city

And chinatown and sentral, which place has more things to shop? Sentral?

Train will be longer.. I took once before. Around 9.30pm departed from Tg Pagar, reached KL Sentral around 5 plus in the morning.

Sentral is Little Indian so I would suggest Chinatown although I always stay at Sentral whenever i go to KL due to easy accessible to airport.

If you would like to take train from the airport, the only option is to take a shuttle bus from LCCT to KLIA, and then take KLIA express to KL Sentral. The fare will be much more expensive. Chinatown has more things to shops, compare to KL Sentral

I think the mode of transport from airport to down is very much dependent on the size of the group. If there are 4 person, I think is much cheaper to arrange a private transport. I have read somewhere there is a service provided at only RM65 per trip.

Assuming from LCCT to KL Sentral, bus ticket is RM9. KL Sentral to say Bukit Bintang is around RM3 ~ RM4 (I think). Hence, it will work out to about RM52 in total for 4 pax. The time taken is also definitely longer.

Of course if travelling alone, then is different story.

Just my personnel opinion.

Usually for me I would go to JB Larkin to take coach from there to KL, it is cheaper as compared to taking coach from golden mile or other travel agencies

I took a flight there, it's only 45 mins, beats sitting in a coach for hours.

Stayed at Times Square, pretty decent place since the mall is just below your hotel.

Personally feel that the standards of service there is dropping and people there r just not interested in doing business (the city as a whole). But all in all, food was cheap and shopping was decent. Don't think I will be heading there anytime soon tho :s22:
