5% cashback on overseas spend

Credit Card - ICBC global travel and Trust
Debit - Youtrip / Revolut

How is you trip/revolut better? You don't get any points or cashback, fsm gives you 1% cashback to cover the FX spread.

ICBC don't have. I have trust bank account not credit card.

Fsmone rates are not as good as youtrip and revo but that 5% cashback was the tipping point for me to use this card when i was overseas last year.

If its just 1%, probably it just brings the fsmone card rates to be on par with youtrip and revolut. That's just how i feel about this fsmone card.

There are really not many options out there for overseas spend. If you have miles card, can probably calculate with the 3.2-3.5% FCY and see if its worth it?

Not sure about this but TnC Point 5,6,7,8 could be problematic for you
If you already have the FSMOne account , maybe can contact fsmone support to ask about it?

I already have fsm account and trust account. I guess I will just use both of them. Won't use Instarem or credit cards.

Careful. Alibaba taobao online I buy pay them USD but they declare their country location as Spore so FSM treat it as non-overseas aka local spend. Learnt it the hard way painful. Also in overseas the merchant sometimes they can be under merchant exclusions list so also no. Msia merchants I tested ok can get 5% for food groceries movie etc.

If you are referring to the 5% promo, currently not running yet. Only the standard 1% cashback.

Maybe you can check back tomorrow on their website or if anyone saw it then i guess someone can update here

Compared against youtrip.

3.47 (spot rate)
3.44 (-0.63% from spot)
Trustbank (3.44, same as well)...

so i think it's still OK to use with the 1% cashback.

Used to be more generous last time at 5% but still 3.5% is good

I think this is still decent in view of cashback. Trust is 1.5% only for eligible card members. Unless you use specialised card combo with Amaze, this cashback hard to beat

The reason I think fsm can offer such promotions is not a lot of ppl still know fsm. Even my spouse and her colleagues ask what is fsm can trust? So fsm need dish out more attractive promo to make their name familiar with more ppl.
