i just realised that the SG stocks we buy using the FSM platform does not get transferred to CDP, but will be held with FSM, in this case, will we still be able to get the dividends ?

what is this auto sweep, ? if top up to this one, can still use the funds to buy SG stocks ?

Do you have an account with FSM or have you ever purchased anything on FSM? When you want to buy a stock, when you want to purchase, you are supposed to select Settlement Mode which is either Cash Account or Auto-Sweep Account...So do you think you can settle using Auto-Sweep Account or not?

I am new to this. Just wondering is it a must to link to cdp or optional?

if I dont link only means that for those my previous share i cannot sell through FSM right.

Those shares I buy though FSM is hold under their account ?

It is optional...If you don't link, you can't sell your shares on FSM...Shares bought through FSM will be held in Custodian account...You need to pay $10.70 and fill up a request foem to transfer it to your CDP...

i have an account with FSM for many years , but these few years i didnt place any buy trade (SG Stocks) with them,

If i remembered correctly, last time i used to top up the Cash account when i wanted to buy funds

I have never heard of this "Auto-Sweep Account"... any advantages/disadvantages for this "Auto-Sweep Account" compared to the "Cash account" (apart from its higher interest?) ?

(I am considering buying some SG stocks using FSM in the next few weeks)

is there any reason why people want to spend money to do this step ?

I don't thing got any other benefits other than the higher interest rates...I personally can't be bothered to activate the Auto-Sweep Account and only use the Cash Account...

Some people prefer to have the shares held on their own CDP for whatever reason that they might have...To be honest, if you want the shares to be in your CDP account in the first place, should have used DBS Vickers Cash Upfront...

Once you have more than 100k of cash or shares under fsmone, your commission is fixed at 10

He/She asked why people want to pay $10.70 to FSM to transfer shares from FSM to CDP and your reply is if He/She got $100k of cash or shares with FSM, the commission is fixed at $10...
