If DBS cash upfront is same fees as FSM and is under CDP, why would people still use FSM if you have under 100k?

Even under 100k, fsmone is cheaper at 0.08% compares with 0.12%. And it applies to sell orders too.

Also some may start with fsmone with the intention of hitting 100k eventually where the fixed 10 commission is unbeatable

FSM is 0.08% or minimum $10...DBS Vickers Cash Upfront is 0.12% or minimum $10...FSM is slightly cheaper than DBS Cash Upfront Account depending on your amount...I think some still stick with FSM as a convenience...You see so many people asking to transfer their SGX holding from one broker to another broker to consolidate all their holdings with a broker...End of the day, it really depends on what you trying to achieve lor...

based on 99k, the savings in commission is $39+ right? but how secure is FSM... ?

a but off topic, but if we put money in a bank, we are secured by SDIC $75k, if we invest in DBS vickers/ FSM (or deposit in their cash account) are our funds secured in any way?

if people with zero investing knowledge suddenly appear in MM/SSI wanting to open brokerage accounts and trade shares, maybe we haven't reached the bottom yet! :s13:

U cannot execute CDP buy order with FSM. Only sell.
So it’s not like-for-like comparison .

It's not min. It's flat 10 for silver tier clients and above...

instead of reading the FSM website for the actual charges, you prefer to believe anonymous internet posts =:p
