My usual investment broker of choice has been FSM however I'm keen on dropping funds which seem to be charging ' excess ' investment/management fees. Also I think that my choices of funds are random and not really the best way to go about doing things.

I want to investment $5-10k per month and from my random reading understand that CSPX is a decent enough choice due to it being Ireland domiciled. However FSM seems to make it extremely difficult to buy lots - I keep getting a incorrect lot price error when I try to buy ETFs on FSM.

And Tiger brokers doesn't allow buys on the LSE.

  1. Is CSPX good for a long term hold ?
  2. Which broker is recommended - I have FSM ( pain in the rear trying to buy ) , Tiger ( doesn't feature LSE yet ) and a DBS bank account ( dont know if Vickers allows purchases on LSE or if it is expensive to use Vickers)

Any tips

^ the error on FSM
Why not buy vuaa.l? It is also s&p500 etf. And use rsp since it is 0% fee?

I have no problems placing an order.

I managed to duplicate your error - its an error message that warns you that you have placed a bid too far above the current ask price. That's nice of FSMOne to warn you. Just reduce your bid amount and the error will go away. 😅

Advantage if any ? Isn't there some higher dividend tax

You need to read more. Cspx and vuaa are traded on lse and have no dividend tax, and same like cspx, for vuaa the dividends are reinvested back.

Is VUAA + EQQQ an ok choice..
As this is FSMone thread and i am not a expert in this, i will just add my a bit of my opinon.

EQQQ focuses on technology (51%) compared to VUAA (32%). In the end, what are you hoping to achieve? Focus on Tech? or just simply stacking on US ETF with SP500 and NASDAQ 100?

- https://www.justetf.com/en/etf-profile.html?isin=IE0032077012#holdings (EQQQ)
- https://www.justetf.com/en/etf-profile.html?isin=IE00BFMXXD54#holdings (VUAA)

put in every month
Right now, just start the RSP and get it rolling first, then slowly think about what you want

What are the pros and cons of both?
All i can provide is a simple breakdown. Better to research this via other means / sources
Some key words you can target
- UCITS
- London stock market
- US Dividends tax for Singaporeans (if applicable for you)
- How the dividend tax works for VOO or VUAA for non american
- Accumulation vs Distributing for ETF

VOOVUAA
S&P 500S&P 500
DomiciledUS (NYSE)London (LSE)
DividendsYesNo, reinvested
Tax on dividends30%15%

On fsmone when one sells, it will attract a 0.07% and 0.15% processing fee for US and London ETFs respectively too. As the dividends given are almost insignificant, i'd go with VOO rather than VUAA as the principle is a bigger sum.

Better check fees as well on ETFs sold via FSM.

I recently ( 2 months only ) started a RSP for VUAA.
$2500 per month and the charges per transaction seem to be around $50! which seems crazy to me.
Wonder if I should be continuing the RSP or just continue with the actively managed funds.

Maybe you should go understand the fees first?
