help! my gfx card for E8210 from np got probl. my openGL is missing ... tried to reinstall driver from scratch but sumtimes got problem installing catalyst install manager and they say the device cannot be detected.. plus when play games monicas appeared like those old fasioned tv video prob.. how ?

Btw, anyone here owning fujitsu laptop which is centrino, not duo core and manage to install windows vista on it?

I own a S7020, but did a pre install check and the report mentioned that my laptop cannot install vista on it. I know that these reports might not be accurate so want to know any bros here to install vista on 7020 or 7021 successfully.

Replies will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Juat get the E8210 and run a reovery using the included recovery dvd from Fujitsu
After the installation of XP home, under the device manager I had this 2 error :

1) Other devices --> Other PCI Bridge Device
2) generic serial

I had downloaded all the drivers from the Fujitsu support site and try all the possible drivers but none seems to work.

Any help?

for (1), try MultiMedia Bay or PCMCIA driver.
for (2), i'm not sure.. but u can try SATA driver

u can try to install vista but if fujitsu website doesn't have the vista drivers for that model, then it will be your own risk to try.

most likely is the fan.. but the hdd has possibility of noise production cos when the disc of the hdd is spinning, it creates sound too.. even if a very soft one..

im using fujitsu s7110.. just upgraded to vista. I guess...upgrade is not a good option for vista. Will need fresh installation. FYI. i downloaded the drivers for vista on fujitsu website, but still there are some software conflicts with vista.. causing constant bluescreens (fyi. i counted, there are 7 within 3 hrs). I disabled one of the fujitsu application, and no more blue screens!


oh yah. with regards to the noise in notebook, yes. I have LOUD noise coming from the notebook - (i have no idea is it fan or hard disk.. ). My friends complained the same..

I'm a student from TP, i've just gotten lifebook E8210. It comes with vista business and the first major flaw i see is that it don't support OPENGL because of its ati graphic card.

So, with the desire to play counterstrike, i wanted to downgrade my vista to window xp. I gave asiapac technical support a call at first. He said disable some setting in bios which isn't clear.

Today i finally tried and when it load the boot disc, the setup say its unable to find the hard disk. I gave them another call and the guy say to downgrade i need an external floppy disc. WHO IN THE WORLD STILL USES FLOPPY?

Asked if i can go down their service centre to get it done, a charge of $50 b4 gst will be incurred.

I'm now a very very very unhappy customer of theirs. No idea if its fujitsu fault or microsoft fault. Anyone have any workabout for me to downgrade to xp?

As what I understand, your model is using SATA harddisk. Therefore you have to press F6 when you start the installation then put in a floppy disk with SATA driver
or
disable SATA function FIRST then update the SATA driver after you finish the OS installation.
To disable the SATA at BIOS and update SATA driver. You can check with their tech support.
An advice for you, may be you will feel not good. Laptop is not suitable for game, if you want to play games, desktop is more recommended.

Well, the person say using the floppy is the only way..

I understand that i can't get the most out of a laptop but not even a minimum performance with vista because of the opengl factor really just doesn't comfort me. Hope you understand.
