breakfast and dinner included, hot shower available, heating available. the first night can be brutal if you go to 3000m from sea level.

no need car, walk to the peaks. check the maps and you will get the picture. there is one public bus per day up from and down to taichung. install their bus app to track and find out the location of the bus.

You have been there before? How many days did you stay at the lodge? Did you go to other places beside nantou? Is the lodge walking distance to Cingjing farm?

Read the chinese blog. There seems only one public bus daily going up and down the mountain. Isn't that very very risky because if miss the bus or what Then no other mode of transport. Imagine you are leaving the lodge Then miss the bus. How to go back to the city with luggage

i stayed 2 nights. i dont like cingjing resort so i didn't stay there. but in the morning i saw buses brought tourists up from cingjing for sunrise. it is at least 30 minutes away by vehicle. maps and google earth are your friends. use them to visualize.

Or get a cab ride up if hitch hiking is not your forte.

Too much planning spoils all the fun. Just have some ideas and rough itinerary and you will be happier travelling and enjoying the trip.

More relax and less fixated on to do list is the best.
Once it rains, you will be terribly lost.

hitchhike. it is not really a remote and isolated place. plenty of cars pass thru the area all day round. anyway, not to worry too much if you can keep to the timetable.

And note.
On top is only the minsu.
No 7-11.
Most activities are around the main area.

it is a national park. usually, private enterprises are not allowed within the park limits. if they allow 7-11 or starbucks up there, the national park authority will definitely get criticized on every tv news channel all day round. you know taiwan... :)
