late autumn (nov, dec) is the best time to visit not only on the mountains but most parts of taiwan. yes, cold but clear blue sky and good visibility.

if you breathe onto a cold window pane, it will be fogged. that's all!

i think you worry too much. when it is cold, humidity sinks to the bottom leaving little humidity or nothing at higher elevations. this is true for japan, nepal or anywhere in the world.

Too much expectation on what the place is like will lead to disappointment when it turned out differently from what we say here.
