saw that b150 has 8 (3.0) chipset pcie lanes, does it matter? i always had the impression that current gfx are using 16 pcie 3 lanes?

well u can always have your intel chips to give that pci-e 3.0, they dun always relies on your chipset, unless ur chips ran out of lanes.

well even if your current pci-e lane be it a 2.0 or 3.0, 16x or 8x. they are just a few couple fps differences.

Like black, buy Mortar.
Love white, get Bazooka. :D

Hey bro MoneyFace,

thanks for your reply! had a similar thread b4 and ur recommendations were really helpful.

It seems like mobo selection other than chipset is bout aesthetics nowadays, i can't really find a solid defining difference between the various b150 mobos.

Looking at MSI b150 bazooka, mortar, gaming m3, gaming pro

Was initially considering the asus pro gaming aura as well, but it seems to be a tad expensive for a b150 board ($503) vs the msi ones, is it cause of the asus brand name?

Any recommendations? definitely dont need raid function and doubt will sli/xfire.

Is there anything im missing out gg for the matx boards mortar/bazooka? i6500 is the best value for non oc ya?

still waiting for AIB 1070

Well Asus is ex due to its brand name and as well as the the RGB. Other than that almost all boards are the same. Just that if u need some extra features, usb more display port, etc. U could even get a cheap one if u not going to install a lot of HDD, have other add-on, can just go for a cheapest one that u can save.

looking at the msi mortar, which has 2 x 4 pin fan connectors.

the fractal r5 has 2x Dynamic GP-14 which are 3-pin

do i need a convertor or?
_____
edit: nvm you can just put 3 pin fans into 4 pin mobos, just that it'll run 100% right?

but u must rmb that 1 of the 4 pins is for cpu header, not for ur 3 pin fan.

and yes u can just put in a 3 pin and it just run 100% fan speed.

4th pin is for pwm fan control , which is a more gradual up/down speed control

3pin plug in can also control fanspeed but use voltage (setting in bios) ... not much difference overall

my asus mobo bios , pwm is bugged it cannot save any profile or custom curve other than the default which is insufficient for my overclock
so I use voltage control and Turbo preset ....... can still be very quiet

buy physical cd at simlim which allows xfer but costs $100 +?
qoo10 oem, only allows one installation on same mobo ard $50?

Thanks Zreo for the help so far.

Just want to confirm, there is no longer a need to partition SSDs for OS right?

lol that was when pc cant boot up fast and those hdd speed wasnt that high. some more with some OS and background apps that is hogging the system.
so partition certain parts of the drive to control the disk loading on that part of the drive.

but with the new SSD been aroound the market, it has largely boost every parts of those slow HDD start up.
den again with the new win 10 on my hdd im able to boot up abit faster (well its still told 40sec but still quite not bad, just that on ssd maybe 10sec ?
