Can lah. Single r9 280x can stay above 60. Even the worse map like operation locker bombarding room the worse fps is at 50fps min. Else ok ba.

I agree, before this i used to Xfire r9 280x. Min 75 and can go up to 105++. Single card can do with 60fps I think. This game optimised for amd.

I'm using this:

Msi b85m g43 + I5-4570
gigabyte 280x
2x 4b gskill ram

Running everything on ultra settings on 1920 x 1200, including BF4 lockerroom. (there are times when fps drops to 50ish, still very smooth).

To be honest. All of the specs recommended to you other than jian19 build is overkilled.

Lets take it that you wanna play bf4 at everything at ultra settings and max AA. With at least 60fps and above.

Msi b85m g43 + I5-4570 ~ $347
Kingston hyperX 1600mhz 2x4gb kit ~ $105
Wd blue 1tb ~ $77
Plextor m5s 128gb ~ $128
Powercolor r9 280x 3gb ~ $404
Superflower hx600 600w 80+ gold ~ $108
Fractal design arc midi ~ $129
Samsung ODD ~$21
Windows 8.1 ~ $125

Total $1444 buy at tradepac. Diy

Gtx760 will never give you a decent fps for bf4 ultra and stay above 60fps. Even if turn AA off.

Actually i always thought that way also. So I've always been using high settings but when i check my fps one day, it turn out fine with everything set to maximum. Sometimes it drops to 56 but i guess that's fine? Only 64players at operation locker where all the bombing occurs then will drop to 30plus sometimes. But all other maps i dont have issue and usually abv 60fps. Using leadtek gtx760.

Yes gtx760 is around that range of performance.

I have finally gotten the rig up from a retailer and now encountering some problems. Hopefully the bros here can assist.

Got the;
Msi b85m g43 + I5-4570
MSI r9 280x 3gb

1) The rig is connected to my DELL S2340L and the screen looks disappointing. I went to the display resolution, it states 1920 x 1080 (recommended) but the size of the screen doesn't fill up the entire DELL montior. Tried to adjust it but no matter what i do, it doesnt seem to work.

2) Is it also normal for the video driver to state R9 200series and not R9 280x?

Thank you!:s22:

Sorry.

Budget $1500 to $1900.

How about 4K Gaming? Is my budget too low?

1500 to 1900 how to ultra in 4k? then 4k monitor budget leh?
if you are feeling rich then get the latest GTX1080Ti @1188+ another 8gb ram+a decent PSU?

But then again, you need to up budget for another monitor else 1080ti with your monitor is overkill.

I see, looks like maybe my budget does not match ultra in 4k unless i sell my monitor and do a top up.

Thanks so much.

For 4K gaming, the 4K monitor plus GTX 1080Ti will probably already set you back by 2K, which is slightly more than your current budget. With other components factored in, the total budget will probably be above 3.2K.

Hello experts!

my set up is described below as per follows and I want to upgrade the set. But I am not sure if I should upgrade or simply buy everything new? My HDD and Power supply should be gone already. Also prefer to have a smaller case as the current casing is Huge.

Please advice!

Thank you so much!

Would recommend to just get a new rig as there is pretty much nth worth reusing.

If you are willing to downsize your mobo you can look into getting a small form factor case.

Would you be interested in a gaming keyboard/mouse by any chance?

Technically this thread was by marlerocks himself.

:s13:

How bout creating your own thread and not hijacking other ppl's thread like a jackass? That said, your rig's pretty much worthless at this point (looking at those parts). Post a proper new thread if you want some proper answers.

You can upgrade by adding another 8GB of DDR3. If you want to change the MB or CPU as well, then it makes more sense to do a new rig.
