SanDisk is in my blacklist as well. Samsung Magician cloning is the best out there imo, worked flawlessly when building for clients. Don't think Micron has such software to compete with Samsung's
Somewhere beyond Samsung 830 they replaced norton ghost with Clonix aka samsung data migration. No issues working it out, don't have partition realignment bs or software deactivation issues.
Hardware wise, in-house designed controller.. no reliance on external vendors for reference firmware so there's an edge on validation. Also usually the earliest in implementing newer power management states so the power efficiency helps a little with laptop battery life.
NAND chips also have the potential of being first hand picks than resold ones used by 3rd party SSD makers.
Xtremesystems has a write endurance chart showing a 256GB set going at 4.5 petabytes (4500TB+) before data retention issues, 6+PB before uplorry and there were no other ssds coming close. (Think the M4 was halfway there). They endurance way beyond 3000 P/E cycles. This was on a consumer drive.
But empirically, there are models with insane write endurance. I have 2 27nm MLC 830s. One has nearly 30k power on hrs. Other is nearing 20k zero issues from day 1 and will continue to use them.
Worth or not? Depends on the individual. But I would still go for SSDs from primary PC OEM SSD suppliers for validation and qc like Intel/Micron/Samsung. It's a personal decision.
