You can't really blame anyone—Lee Kuan Yew set the bar too high. LKY was essentially synonymous with the PAP. While many of his policies might not be as effective in today’s era, there’s no denying his iron-fisted leadership and sheer determination in transforming Singapore into a global powerhouse. Thank heaven Tharman has left to become our President. Which is a good thing not just because he would have helped PAP to secure votes, but also, even if PAP loses its majority, Tharman will be there to advise new govt (as part of his presidential role).
