NCM is a LHL hire. If LHL is still PM, NCM would most likely be in the same GRC team as him rather than Victor Lye filling the void.

Yes, indeed he is a heavy weight. WP took lightly of him. WP has better candidates to send to Jalan Kayu to face NCM but they are too ambitious to take on a GRC.

NCM is also NTUC Chief. So if he lost, he can still continue his chief position.

NCM will most likely win against the inexperienced WP newcomer.

That's why I'm disappointed by the conservative kiasu kiasi mentality of WP's Aljunied lineup. Come on, Pritam, Sylvia and Gerald - 3 of WP's most experienced, all clumped tightly in a single GRC.

IMHO, Sylvia and Gerald could hold the fort in Aljunied while Pritam ventures out to take on NCM 1 vs 1. Let voters make the choice between NTUC-Allianz sellout or LOTO.

But I get it that it's human nature to protect and preserve their MP allowance and seat. Then again, no venture no gain.

What caused KPK to lose to LLL in the Punggol East SMC by election can happen again

moreover, the person who face you see everywhere may not want him on board looking at the number of new pap candidates they staged for this GE

Andre didi has nothing to loose but NCM korkor has everything to loose so that psychological pressure is in WP’s favour

I spent my morning meeting residents at Fernvale Hawker Centre today.

I had a meaningful time chatting with residents young and old.

With my rally speech now online, I’m heartened to hear that my message resonated with residents on concerns facing all Singaporeans such as cost of living, housing affordability, needs of families and seniors, better protection for our workers and also caring for the wellbeing of young children.

I’m glad to hear that many resonated with my message about holding those in power to account.

I also bumped into the PAP candidate during my walkabout. We shook hands and I wished him a good campaign. While we may differ in opinions, I hope for a good contest between us so that outcome is one that is for the best for Jalan Kayu.

I also appreciate the opportunity to chat with @channelnewsasia and @channel8sg today, I hope these interviews allow Singaporeans to get to know me better and hear about my plans for Jalan Kayu.

PAP stands to lose a lot of key people if they lose a certain particular GRC since most of GRC are anchor by minister of certain portfolio. Just look at how SK managed to win Punggol-Changi in the past. Now, the person who was rejected from there, NCM, is making a comeback in an SMC he was once involved in.

Jalan Kayu win is important to NCM as it probably be seen as a redemption arc for him in the party so he can be absorb into GRC system again.

Yup, he needs to prove that he can hold his own ground. So, getting him to run in an SMC was a gd move.

Andre needs face time and exposure to the Fernvale residents.

There's not much he can do with the people living at the private estates along YCK road.

But there's thousands of HDB residents in the area. Hopefully there's coverage given to him in the relevant estate chat groups.
