Oh the amount of hypocrisy in this thread lol. Those saying "it's only on private chat", do you not think it might be reflective of the language he uses and perhaps his character outside of "private chat"? Acceptable if Oppie, unforgivable sin if PAP.

Yes it might be reflective of his language he used outside of the private chat. If that's indeed the case, I am sure that there will be people stepping up with comments, anecdotes of their experiences. And if he was indeed an arse during his volunteer stint, again I am sure that there will be people upset enough that he's running and share those anecdotes.

can explain how NCM would probably benefit from the 1.85bil in the allianz deal? if might risk pofma then nebermind
I said probably. Question is does he hold NTUC income shares as a board member? The capital reduction plan is to give back the money to shareholders. If he's one of the shareholders, does he not benefit from that?

Frankly, I do not see why private exchanges between friends, involving some casual vulgarities or opinions, should become a national scandal. These were conversations held at a different stage of life, in private settings, without harming anyone.

The way certain groups are using Andre’s and Alexis’s private moments to tarnish their image feels no different from past smear attempts, like circulating Alexis’s video with her friends, which frankly showed nothing inappropriate. Everyone acts like they’ve never used casual language among friends or had private moments. Are public figures now expected to be perfect human beings even before they step into politics?

More importantly, the real question should be: why were these private materials leaked at such a convenient time? It feels coordinated, aimed at distracting voters from real issues and policies.

At the end of the day, everyone should assess the candidates based on their performance during this election, what they say at rallies, what they stand for, and how they intend to serve the people. Their private lives, especially matters that have no bearing on public trust or governance, should not be weaponized in this way.

The way people are judged is that he does the right thing even when no one is looking, more over this is limited only to a small group.

U guys never f-bomb in your friends group chat? We even slur & some friendly bullying.. :) Get a life, we are human.

I remember some post on FB that complain Police Officer buying food in uniform with firearms and other that police car park illegally while on emergency duty...Sometimes people just need to adjust their mindset.

Politicians are human after all. Cant be saint 24/7 right...
Agree. However, they are also 'above others' in many sense. They need to carry themselves so that people will respect them.

They can have vices, whatever, but when make a mistake, apologize, not speak arrogantly and get off with things.

Police buying food bo sala, but too often I see their cars parked near the kopitiam and buying food in uniform, come on... when they are in uniform they are in authority mode, they set an example. buying food in full uniform is distasteful. I know usually they will put on a jacket to cover up. I don't have an issue with them buying food however, I do have an issue when I call the NPP and they say no office available, but hey, guess what... they are buying food. So....

Politicians are humans, they can f behind doors, etc... really, nobody cares, however by nature, they are the higher beings, they ought to watch themselves and their actions closer and take note of any possible scrutiny.

Akin to a traffic court judge crossing the road where there is no traffic light, it's about being a good example.

TLDR;
Mistakes can be made, admit, apologize, move on.

what a person does privately, when he or she is alone says more about the person than what he/she does in public.

does not mean one can't change for the better though.

The smear campaigns against opposition candidates pale in comparison to serious issues like NCM’s role in the botched NTUC Income sale, which impacts public insurance coverage. Private matters are being blown up, while real governance failures are downplayed.
