Sdp problem is the ground walking. One thing I like about psp is their active stance on walking the grounds even outside election periods. Yes it's resource intensive but the reward is worth it in long run

WP have really raised their professional image and PSP have overtaken SDP in the public conciousness.

SDP don't seem to have much renewal or public engagement or media pressence. Till this day, they are still the CSJ kpkb party.

Dunno what Paul Tambyah still hanging around with them.

you kinda feel ... their leadership is all quite capable type. no one man fronting or tanking for the whole party.

LKY was not always the main face of the PAP, in the early years Lim Eng Guan was more popular than LKY and almost became PM if not for the decisive vote by Toh Chin Chye.

All these "opposition" exist to oppose PAP only. No proper platform. Don't even know how much different they are from PAP either.
Plus the fact is PAP represents wishes of majority of SG anyway.
Low income taxes. No capital gains tax. No investment income tax.
Jobs first. Money first.
Property ownership over rentals.
Efficient government.
Good infrastructure
Cheap local food.
Strong SGD to travel

Nothing much to offer which PAP don't.

Opposition should stop calling themselves opposition or be allowed to be called opposition. Unite under another party to be alternative to PAP offer same policies but with better candidates.

Clearly WP SDP SMLJP all cannot.

I think lately also the salary of Minister and MP is too little to attract really good people to politics. Easier to just trade stocks invest in property get finance job earn more money maybe even tax free.

So many falsehoods. Csj replaced cst as sec gen in a vote of no confidence. There is no betrayal like what msn put it. Every party can do the same including the time when wp chen show mao tried the same thing to ltk except failed. Had he succeeded is csm also a traitor? MSM tightly controlled by the incumbents, no choice they wrote the narrative. Thus, need to rely on social media platforms to fight the disinformation.

SDP's party members at that time, including Wong Hong Toy all mentioned that both are at fault.

Anyway, seeing how he handled PP's succession and Lina Chiam's subsequent performance as a NCMP in parliament partly validates CSJ in some areas le, not that CSJ is entirely blameless too

Desmond Lim and Benjamin Pwee also left CST's party due to disagreements too.



Paul Tambyah joining in 2015 injected a fresh wave of optimism. Since then, SDP's image has been rejuvenated.

Their main issue is that, they don't have sufficient resources like PSP and WP does to be able to walk the ground consistently over the past 5 years.

WP is centred around East and PSP around west, thus Gerrymandering affected them lesser. SDP is only around a portion of the North.

Hope at least Paul Tambyah can get a seat this time.

Problem for SDP is that they are perceived as much more left than the other parties , which generally are centrist parties. SDP is our liberals, and since the takedown of the woke movement, the left is no longer in fashion.

Benjamin Pwee was thought to be a better option to hand over PP to, but he chose his wife eventually. Thus, after that SPP just went downhill.

At least other opposition parties like SDP, WP, and such will appear in public to do walkabouts even before election. NSP totally no sound until near election. Until they earned the name "No Sound Party".

At least he got VB on 2 statements.

If anything, he should be the one in parliament in place of Ministers like VB and TSL, etc. Actually, having someone like him in Parliament helps to keep PAP of its toes and disallowed them for avoiding tough questioning.

If you are talking about being a minister, then we can slowly debate. Highly doubt we will reach a stage where CSJ will potentially be a minister.
