Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

We can take heart in a strong result.

For all who supported me, do not be disheartened, our message remains undimmed!

I hope to continue to serve Singapore and Jalan Kayu to the best of my ability!

📹:Studio+65

Hope all the capable candidates who want to continue/step into politics should attempt to join WP 1st to see if they can pass the test.

Slowly do groundwork over next 5 years.

PSP and SDP need to regroup liao.

All other mosquito parties (not sure about RDU) can just disband and Not waste time.

This election was, at its core, a test of whether WP could hold onto its incumbent wards, especially Seng Kang and Aljunied despite blatant gerrymandering and they passed. Any gains beyond that would’ve been a bonus.

But seeing the Jalan Kayu results… really gek xim. Everyone can tell it was carved out as a special SMC for someone with a questionable track record. Yet, the close margin shows that many voters still chose to look past character and integrity. It makes you wonder where are the voters critical thinking and ethical standards?
Gerry did a good job here. Thus, eliminating PSP in the process.

For Aljunied, as much as WP supporters can be diluted & spilled over to the next GRC, it can also be said for the PAP supporters.

I think the biggest winners would be Victor Lye & NCM. Both finally got what they wanted after all that effort. Perhaps the voters didn't realise the severity of the NTUC-Allianz case :ROFLMAO:

Retain : Aljunied, hougang, sengkang

Sengkang % increased by 4%
tampines first time field 47%
punggol 45%
jalan kayu smc first time field 48%
tampines changkat first time field 44%
hougang smc as usual nth to shout about

east coast drop by 5%
overall not bad?
Of course not bad. Now WP got 2 more ncmp inside parliament.

Total 12 mps and ncmp in parliament

Other opposition just unable to make a headstart into parliament. Tcb is too greedy. They should follow sdp tartic attack a smc first. At least 1 mp enter parliament. Now like irrelevant and totally no mp or ncmp inside parliament.

Psp pang kang la. Even csj perform better than them

Jalan Kayu was carved out from AMK GRC, which was like the top 2 or 3 performing GRCs last GE one.

By right, was supposed to be a straightforward win. No one expected it to be this close in the 1st place.

But next GE most probably will go back liao.

I hope the volunteers of other opposition parties can perhaps consider help out with WP instead, so that they have more hands to conduct groundwork over next 5 years.

Pritam Singh already said in his rally speech that it is incredibly difficult for an opposition to flip a SMC/GRC held by a PAP incumbent, so no surprises they didn't flip any seats, even though they gave a good fight in Tampines and Jalan Kayu, but still a poor 38% win rate for WP if you consider the number of seats they contested and how many of those seats they won.

Hard for WP to flip PAP GRC/SMC, and it's equally hard (if not, harder) for PAP to flip WP held GRC/SMC.
At least they managed to hold onto the 2 GRC.... if not that would be real bad. Punngol that one really bobian... new team vs SXL and last minute GKY...

Yup. All Oppo should join WP to challenge the incumbent.

yes. very difficult
they need to do what LTK did for Aijunied back then...extremely risky move.

Aijunied ppl recognize the stakes and give them the mandate.... very fortunate back then, one of the most exciting GE in recent history. I'm on the edge of my seat as a Aijunied voter

I posted this in another thread.

Just for perspective. While the rest of the country gravitated to the PAP giving 80% win percentages in some areas, when it comes to WP contested area, things get a bit interesting.

Punggol, Tampines and Jalan Kayu are areas generally not covered by WP but contested this round. Fresh faces, un-walked ground. Despite that,

1. close to 45% of Punggol voters decided that it's ok to not vote for DPM Gan, SXL and lose these office holders
2. 47% of Tampines decided that it's ok to not vote for Masagos and Poh Koon, and lose these office holders
3. 48.5% of Jalan Kayu decided that they rather choose a young boy (with a foul mouth, as some here would term it) over a sitting labor chief, former minister and 3 star general.

In total, 130k Singaporeans voted for WP in these 3 GRC/SMC and these are in areas previously uncontested by WP.

So a strong mandate to PAP in non WP contested areas may not necessarily be a real mandate, if the mandate is borne out of a lack of choice.

I can only hope that more Singaporeans will step up and volunteer, continue to walk the ground in these areas and by the next elections, it would not matter how EBRC redraws the boundaries.

Aljunied GRC actually got gerrymanderded this GE too, Faisal Manap's ward went to Tampines GRC.

Well at the end, WP still manage to get 60%. Not bad liao.
