Problem is.. is there even a head of state for Palestine suitable to head the state.. and not just leave it to Hamas to keep attacking Israel?
Already got uprisings against Hamas. After the past 1.5 years of heavy propaganda, the truth is starting to shine out le.

Not wise to mention this. WP should just focus on Singapore matters. The conflict is best resolved by the 2 sides. Let them fight it out.
Good, if not got people come protest as meet the people session, then a lot of issue thereafter. Good to be clear.

WP candidate introduction: Siti Alia Abdul Rahim Mattar

519702.jpg

Ms Siti Alia Abdul Rahim Mattar, a legal counsel in a multinational corporation, joined the Workers’ Party as a volunteer almost a year ago.

Speaking in Malay and English, she says she feels that Singaporeans need more “representation in Parliament”.

Adding that she is from the sandwich generation and takes care of her three children and aged father, she is concerned about the rising cost of living and the affordability of a Housing Board flat for her children.

One of the causes Ms Alia Mattar hopes to champion is providing more support for the older generation, particularly in helping them finance the treatment of chronic illnesses.

WP candidate introduction: Eileen Chong, who works in social impact sector

2b93b3.jpg

Ms Chong currently works in the social impact sector, where she leads the early childhood development, education and youth mental health and well-being portfolios at the Asia Philanthropy Circle.

A former diplomat, she also worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she focused on Singapore’s bilateral relations with China, Thailand, the Philippines and Laos. She was later posted to the Singapore embassy in Beijing.

Ms Chong, who joined the WP as a volunteer in the second half of 2024, says she is here because she cares deeply about Singapore’s tomorrow.

In addition to serving residents, she says she hopes to bring more kindness, empathy and openness into Parliament if elected.

Recognise the State of Palestine

The Israel-Palestine conflict is one of the most enduring and complex disputes in modern history. Many Singaporeans care deeply about the pain and suffering of the people in these lands, and wish to see a peaceful resolution to the conflict. We support a negotiated two-state solution where two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, live in peace within secure and recognised borders.

Singapore should formally recognise the State of Palestine, even before negotiations on a two-state solution are concluded. Such recognition would lend legitimacy to our two-state position.
Progress towards and achieving a durable two-state solution will ultimately bring greater hope, peace and security to Israelis and Palestinians, and the wider Middle East region. It will also diffuse racial and religious tensions over this issue among local populations in Southeast Asia. We have to ensure this conflict does not precipitate social divisions within Singaporean society.
This will win the Malay vote.

If I am not wrong, PAP also holds this position too hence this issue would just be neutralized to parity.

WP can’t win one-third of Parliamentary seats yet: Pritam Singh

Responding to a reporter’s question, WP chief Pritam Singh says that WP will not be able to meet the party’s medium-term objective of winning one-third of Parliament seats in this election.

“We will not be able to meet that one-third number of candidates to fill one-third of Parliament opposition MPs,” Mr Singh says.
