Will be disappointed if Pritam doesn't leave Aljunied safe seat to contest in another GRC. Shows whether he has the courage to risk for gain. If he stays in Aljunied, only shows he wants to maintain status quo and protective of his MP and LOTO position.

Assuming PAP doesn't change its candidate slate, take Sylvia and two of them go contest in Marine Parade. Basically, WP is giving voters a clear choice:

1) Vote PAP and lose the 2 most prominent opposition MPs in parliament.
2) Vote WP and lose 2 ministers: Edwin Tong and Tan See Leng.

Gamble that voters feel choice (1) is more costly than choice (2).

Edwin Tong and Tan See Leng are not popular ministers. One is a DEI shrill and the other is FT protector. Both cannot rise higher to DPM and are stuck as 2nd tier Ministers. They can be easily replaced in PAP cabinet reshuffle. 3rd PAP MP Seah Kian Peng is also not popular. The remaining Malay guy also never heard of.

If gamble pays off, WP gains another GRC while 2 unpopular Ministers are kicked out.
This.
the choice is clear for me.
Will happily say bye to TSL and ET.

With over 14 years of experience in the finance and payment industries, Jasper has led high-impact projects, including the launch of FRANK by OCBC (2013), My EZ Link mobile wallet (2017), and YouTrip’s launch with EZ Link (2018). Jasper initially helped out at the Meet-the-People’s Sessions in Hougang SMC as a way to give back to the community. His experiences working alongside the party during the COVID-19 period deepened his belief in the Workers’ Party’s commitment to being a loyal opposition. He supports the party’s goal of pushing the PAP to do better, fostering more robust democratic discussions, and helping elevate the political system as a whole.

A learned person don't gamble. They take calculated risks.

Don’t be overly excited.

Chen Show Mao was seen potential leader until we saw his performance ish archerly a poet. :(

For CSM, he can silently cruise and will still remain as a MP.

There were some unsaid things regarding his actions in fighting for power in the CEC which made WP cut ties with him. Many unspoken implications why he was trying to unseat LTK.

The Workers’ Party (WP) revealed on Saturday (Apr 19) three more new faces for the upcoming #GE2025. These include senior counsel Harpreet Singh Nehal, lawyer Sufyan Mikhail Putra Mohd Kamil and product lead Jasper Kuan.

Mr Singh, 59, is a managing partner of law firm Audent Chambers, a position he has held since 2019. He is also a Senior Counsel, and holds a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Laws from the National University of Singapore.

Mr Sufyan, 33, is a former associate director of a community-based law firm, specialising in areas including conveyancing and corporate law. He resigned from his position due to the firm’s non-partisan policy in order to contest the elections, according to his bio posted on the party’s website.

Mr Kuan, 47, is the Asia Pacific product lead for dispute solutions at Visa Worldwide. He began his career as a teacher at Catholic High School, before joining OCBC six years later where he led the launch of FRANK by OCBC, a banking product designed for young adults.

Get to know our candidate - Harpreet Singh Nehal 贺沛星

Harpreet is the Managing Partner of Audent Chambers LLC, a position he has held since 2019. A Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court of Singapore (appointed in 2007), he was formerly a Partner at Clifford Chance (2012–2019) and, before that, held various roles at Drew & Napier, including as Partner (1994–2011). He had also served as a Justices’ Law Clerk in the Supreme Court of Singapore (1993–1994).

He holds a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Laws from the National University of Singapore. He has taught in Harvard Law School’s Summer Program of Instruction for Lawyers and is a Fellow of the Singapore Academy of Law.

Harpreet believes that Singapore will be a much stronger country with more balanced politics. In his view, it is well past time for Singapore to open up politically.

Harpreet hopes to see a fundamental rethinking of HDB policies to ensure that public housing remains affordable and accessible, particularly in an era of increasing job and income insecurity. He also calls for a realignment of CPF and retirement policies to better support seniors, and serious reform in education to equip students for the future.

He believes Singapore deserves a fairer and more transparent political system, with institutions such as the People’s Association and the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee operating independently, and with civil society and government critics treated with respect rather than suspicion.

These changes, in his view, are vital to securing Singapore’s future not just as a high-GDP nation, but as one where affordability, retirement adequacy, quality of life and a fair political system are realities for all citizens.
