Jurong is big. People always say is bird no lay eggs. They always under estimate the size of Jurong.
5 MRT stations and more to come...
Jurong is like we can drive here drive there.. cycle all over the place and still inside Jurong!

It is just different... The feeling is different when I travel out. I guess it's the same for those people getting into Jurong too.

East side always likes to blast us. But it's ok. We are not packed like them... We got space to run about here!

West side= best side 😄

anyone has memories of singapore's only drive-in cinema at Taman Jurong? I was not born when the cinema was in operations.
memory lane time lolx.....
that was around till probably late 70s or very early 80s.

the epic was the Song or Tang dynasty village where the HK stars came over to film a CNY movie..
the whole concept failed after that and it became an empty shell.. till it was finally demolished and ground was empty till they are now building BTO there.

I was based in armor camp during NS in the early 90ss... and back then need to take the infamous 206 which will need to make a loop inside LCK cemetery before continue its way towards Sungei Gedong..
everyone in the bus will be quiet once it entered inside........... lolx

That time still got that big splash slides there!

Then the old market where the legendary taman Jurong bachor mee is.. I am fortunate to have tried the original! That is matchless! Top it up with those syrup drinks from the stall besides it. Heavenly!

that cinema can show IMAX movies and the price is a fraction of what is charged at nearby GV at JP.
sometime they will show current blockbuster... i watched the last spiderman movie over there

before 9/11,,, actually can stroll further into the what is now known as Command college.....
it is pretty scenic and chill..

Yes, SDC is a gem that not many know of. I am surprised to see so many ppl here know of the cinema and cheap / free parking.

Because West side don't have the Joo Chiat / Katong enclave where the expats chill and a lot of cafe style vibes.

West is a bit more rural in that sense. And WCP is not as popular as ECP where you get a lot of bicycle rental shops (back in the day) and long beach walks, long cycling tracks, BBQ corners, building tents.

WCP also can, but just not popular.

The nearest "expat-ish" area in the West is Holland Village and Hillview / Dairy Farm.

aiyo. west coast park is too ulu unless u got a car to go there.

the park is too small and not really upkeep well . i went on weekday before , the path & benches is filled with fallen branches and leaves . the "beach" stretch is too short. dun see any swings or playgnd for kids . very wasted .

the new jurong lake gardens is way better tbh

During her rally speech, Hazel Poa also called on the police to release the results of their investigation regarding the Low Yen Ling PAP volunteers harassing PSP members.

Now we get this Shawn and his volunteers. Dirty politics needs to be exposed.

We actually got small table to farm restaurants around the farm areas in Sungei Tengah. Last time lagi better... Got farm mart there.

No need to have angmos or atas is fine..

I rather it will it not change..I love the rustic slower and milder mood in Jurong.
