It won't be here soon. :(

I recommend all to reset your gear s2 after installing PFB firmware. I encountered performance issues and after I reset it, more options came out in gear app and the performance of the watch returned to normal..
Thanks for the advice! I don't have performance issues but will try a reset. What new options appeared btw?

one obvious change is "manage notification" when u swipe right at your watch face. you will also realise some UI change on gear app as well. now you are able to view the gear storage in break down menu and gear battery usage blah blah blah.

previously on PF3, these options do not show up on gear app.

Is the Samsung Pay available on the Gear S2? So much hype on this payment mode on the S3 but nothing on the S2.

Hey guys, wondering if anyone could help on here. Upgraded to the latest PK5 through my note 4, for my R720 a few days ago. After the reboot, i could no longer get my S2 to connect to the Gear app. So i did a soft reset and now, all my watch shows is the screen stating: "Reactivation lock is enabled on your Gear. On your phone, sign in to the same Samsung account that was used to lock the Gear."

Trouble is, I am using the same Samsung account and though the S2 pairs with my note 4 via bluetooth, it never connects to my phone. I cannot even hard reset it, as the Recovery option on bootup is now gone, with the new firmware. I have tried uninstalling the Gear app, removing my Samsung account and adding it back, together with re-installing the Gear app, but to no avail. Other devices such as my bluetooth earpiece all pair and work flawlessly with my phone, so it cannot be that the phone's bluetooth is faulty. I also doubt it was a bad firmware update, as the S2 was working perfect (except being able to my phone) after the update.

Any help on hard resetting or any advice is much appreciated.

i guess you have already lost the profile on the phone when you uninstall gear manager. the re-activation lock setting is found on the app itself where you can disable it first by keying in your samsung account credentials. moreover, you could also log into samsung account to dissociate your watch with your samsung account first then re-pair it again.

you may refer to this article for hard reset command: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00050522/

Please note that all user data will be wiped and is irrecoverable.

Please reset your gear manager to default like how you first pair it with the watch to avoid conflict.

Hey bro, thanks for the advice. I have managed to hard reset the Gear S2, but still get stuck at getting it to connect, despite being able to pair the watch with my phone via bluetooth, it just keeps showing as "connecting to Gear..." :(

Also, when i view my Samsung Account profile, i can see that only my note 4 is associated with it, no Gear S2 in sight, despite me originally using this same account to set the reactivation lock. I somehow think the PK5 firmware update did something odd to the connection. Do you have anyway to downgrade the watch firmware?

you cannot downgrade the firmware on your side, and the PK5 does not have such issue as far as I know. you might wanna bring your watch to the service centre for them to do a clean wipe, you need tools and cables for which i'm pretty certain you don't have..

I guess that seems to be my only option for now.

Thank bro! :D

Brought my gear S2 to the service centre on Monday and got it back last evening. They unlock the reactivation lock but I still could not connect to my note 4. :( The technician could connect to his phone, so they advised me to do a factory reset. I'm very sure that there is some other way besides a factory reset (since my other Bluetooth devices are working well with my phone), to resolve this... Damn firmware update! Lol

*update: my bad. I uninstalled Greenify and BAM! It connected. I must have greenified something I should not have ROFL
