U seem pretty knowledgeable, plan to hold long term? If its me I will go in slowly by batch. Get one now, see how it is 6 months later, maybe yellen increase interest rate. Then again, easy for me to say coz my cost price is low.
Ya i plan to hold long term and collect dividends, i live in the west and often go jem/westgate to spend $$, wanna hedge by investing in shopping malls lol
However my biggest worry would be the rise of interest rates which may result in the decline in prices of bonds and reits

Fed may hike rates faster, warns banker , News, News, AsiaOne Business News

The strategy to manoeuvre the local market is to focus on quality stocks, such as ComfortDelGro, DBS and CapitaMall Trust, Ms Lee added, as she shared OCBC Investment Research's top picks for 2015.

"We think Reits (real estate investment trusts) have done well and, going into 2015, you still need some to anchor your portfolio… Apart from that, the banking sector generally tends to do well in a higher interest rate environment, and DBS, having done well, should be part of your core holding."

Keppel Corp is also worth a look, even as oil and gas plays continue to be pressured by falling oil prices, she said.

Any reason for CMT's recent run to $2.1?

typically, CMT price can climb above 2 dollars every jan since 2012...so no surprises.
anyway is also approaching CD period for most retail reits.
while FCT price in higher in the period of nov.

These few weeks are the REITs CD period, expect some upside.

CD refer to credit default? sorry I think I have heard this term before but I forget liao...

Ahh ok i remember liao hahahaha, since the dividend period is coming, there will be a hike of share price which is call cum dividend. after the ex divi date, the share price will be going to ex CD liao up until the payment of the dividend

I see the CMT share price is falling, is it because of the ex divi date? how can I check the recent ex divi date for each company?

CD or Cum-dividend, in other words, including dividends.
XD or ex-div, exclude dividends.

I am wondering whether such recommendations are only made after fund managers move in to buy up these shares first? In other words, if you buy now, you are buying overpriced shares and boosting the returns of the funds that bought them earlier.

Next question, how accurate were OCBC Investment Research's top picks for 2012, 2013, and 2014? What's their track record? Outperform or underperform the STI?

Go to SGX, under company information drop down click corporate action, you can search for a particular company there too.

All analyst recommendation, take with a huge serving of salt.

Ok, I found OCBC's 2014 top picks

Stock picks strategy preferred. Our big cap stock picks for 2014 are CapitaLand, CapitaCommercial Trust, DBS, Ezion Holdings, Keppel Corporation, Keppel Land, Starhill Global, Suntec REIT and UOB. In the mid-cap space, our stock picks are KSH, Nam Cheong and Sheng Siong Group.

Anyone got free time to see how many of their picks under or outperform the STI?

i take it as when banks issued BUY call, means that fund houses have already buy in...so no point entering on a high price.
they just want the herd mentality to follow them, pushing price higher before the BB cash out.
