reits are meant to be held for long term, same for property

if u bought a condo at beginning of the year, then at end of the year your condo is worth 10% more.. will u sell off your condo?

10+% can sell oredi if you are FIFO trading. If you want to let the profits run some more, sell half of your holdings to lock in some profits first.

Reits u can get like 5-8% yield

If your one year capital gain is 3-5 times your yield maybe can consider taking profits, since this equals to u getting 3-5 years of dividends already

Taking 6% yield on the reit u bought
If capital gain is 18-30% in one year, i would strongly consider selling

It means trading for capital gains

I would not encourage fifo for reits

Reits more for being a landlord and get rental income

my observation, BIG name payout DPU is lower when everyone enjoy good time. When economy is bad, they still manage to maintain DPU (and boost investors' confidence).
For smaller player, pay you gao gao to attract, when they cannot perform, DPU will drop.

The same reason why we use 'BB' instead of 'institutional investors' or 'high net-worth individuals'. Give it a more local flavour.
