Actually sg banks' dividends have reached almost 6% with DBS exceeding that liao (7% if you take into account the bonus share), why are we still looking at reits ?

It is about the minimum price to enter. At over $10+,20+,30+ 100 units wow out of my reach. If SGX can reduce to 10 units per trade more ppl will enter like me hohoho

The 3 local banks are a 'standard' part of a dividend investors portfolio - eg: AK, DW, etc portfolio. I know some uncle and auntie, only share they own are bank shares - maybe they also owned SPH but because they collected dividend for so long, they didn't lose money 😅

(1) DCA bank shares quarterly instead of monthly.
(2) If don't have enough to DCA quarterly, then maybe DCA STI ETF until you have enough money to DCA bank shares.

If I can achieve similar rate via other investment instrument at lower minimum why I need the local banks? E.g equities mutual fund which pay monthly dividends but US centric stocks giving good capital gains and dividends. Moomoo app already show them as one of the most subscribed and yes the mutual fund top holdings are the magnificent seven for instance and other mutual fund etc. I only buy their SGD version for easier computation of my capital gains and loss

Congrats on choosing US stocks instead of SG stocks your US stocks will definitely be outperforming SG REITs and SG Banks.

2024 seems US market is just going up in one nearly straight line. At current prices, I become more reluctant to buy, and instead looking at other markets & counters including SG REITs.

Besides CLR CFA there are also SRT and GRN. Not exactly same but reit holdings in nature.
