I think this is to fund their recent purchase of Grand Canyon Mall in Beijing.

Did a quick research on this mall. Although is well satuated next to subway, it did not generate any profit to their parent company since 2010 opening, which end up cheap selling to Capital for rmb1.8B.

Only 5th floor cinema is flooded with crowd on weekends.. and lunch crowd during weekday at 4th floor restaurant. Others shops are pretty quiet.. not sure how the anchored walmart doing now though.. it could be due to its isolated location where there is no mall nearby.. like vivo city in Singapore. But there are big residential projects nearby at 3rd ring, and offices as well.

Maybe cap trust will do a major overhaul soon.. if they are able to replicate vivo city concept of shop, watch and play to this mall with a middle class favor.. maybe it could be a gem in the future..

Ascott results out, must say quite good due to appreciation of EUR.

DPU increased to 2.37 cents/share, about 6% YoY.

No CD this quarter due to semi-annual payment.

It means you can apply to buy directly from CRCT 1,200 new units at $1.30 apiece. You can also apply to buy more, also at $1.30, and if there are leftover units they will be allocated to you. When you go to apply at the ATM, just punch in the number of units you want.

My observation: Most REITs trying to raise a chunk of money of this size - $59m or only 6% of the issued unit base - would opt for private placements. Faster execution, tighter discount, also can save money on paying the underwriters. I think it is a good opportunity for present unitholders.

will only buy if there is another round of discount, buy for the sake of more dividends seems like succumbing to greed.
