DW is hardly the be all and end all in REIT investing. Frankly speaking he is actually quite late to the game and truth be told, a big part of his success was due to his impeccable timing in which he bought most of his REITs post-GRC. Of cos he did his homework and he bought well-managed REITs. So I'm not saying his success was blind luck but a result of the work he put into researching the REITs he was buying.

REITs has been around since 2003/2004. Some of us has been into REIT long before DW comes along. Just because we dun trumpet our shareholdings on a blog does not makes us any less REIT investor.

I said it before and I will say it again. Anyone trying to replicate DW's success by going into REITs blindly now is asking for trouble. You wont be able to see the sort of capital gains that those of us who bought during the post-GFC great SGX sale.

Haha, don't worry, there will be re-bounce after the initial sell down. Can pick up more of your favourites. Reits would rise with economy. Especially the better ones.

Camping for discounts for FCT, Starhill and CMT

i have reduced my exposure on reits since last month.
on the lookout for a good price to sell FCT.
first reits seems like on some growth momentum, so will keep it for the moment.

appreciate your warning but as i know both of us still have vested interest, i'm talking more about the non vested personal instead.

Ya, I reduced my exposure but I still have CMT, FCT, AIMS, CACHE, Keppel DC, MINT. Mostly green except 2 counter, who wanna guess which 2?

Cache is -13%, MINT is +22% to date. Excluding the lastest dividends.

Cache and aims, industrial counters. Dividend can't cover capital losses

at the Q2 of 2013, i used to have CMT, FCT, first reit, suntec, MCT, MIT, MLT.
eventually cut all maples and cache.
just got rid of suntec and CMT recently.

i think is good practice to take profit especially when div yield has been compressed due to share price appreciation.

Anything for reits in budget 2015?

Btw when are the proposals mentioned in the MAS whitepaper for reits going to take effect?
