Boot a Linux distro from a usb stick and see if sound works? If not is probably a hardware failure

Try force install some drivers that are from same family and then update again?

People already tell you get usb soundcard. If your onboard audio is faulty, no amount of reinstalling will solve the problem.

Does buying this help? I just plug in and I can play sounds from YouTube etc??

you can buy usb sound card. Or if dont want to buy reinstall an older version of windows 10. if no problems, backup that driver using driver backup

Sorry the link does not work even when i go to the website.

This site can’t be reached
dlcdnets.asus.com’s server IP address could not be found.
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

I can go into both links, no issue.

try another PC, or manually google search for "asus ux310ua", select ux310ua and win10-64bit

Thanks I managed to dl it but I just cannot install it. I tried clicking the exe file in the folder and also right click update the driver and uninstall from device manager.

I did a troubleshoot to play test sounds and it could play well and ok I am hoping it is not a hardware issue.

Managed to update the driver by clicking on update driver and chose from my local pc drive to the one from UX310. Starting there was sound but very soon the sound broke and went mute again. I guess something is wrong with the drivers.

I did a trouble shoot and sound test the sound could be played and heard thus I’m hopeful it’s not a hardware issue.

Hi Thanks alot for your patience and help,

I tried and googled for many ways to resolve this. i have tried different drivers from ASUS to Lenovo and also Realtek. Initially i played youtube there was sound coming out but after few secs the sound would break and no more sound will be coming out. I have done uninstall, update drivers etc but nothing seems to work. Really at my wits end. I have also tried the method via the link you send at fix 1 and 2, basically i done my part to google and search for answers before coming here to seek experts help. Really regret buying ASUS laptop.

When i sent in my laptop to ASUS for diagnostics they mentioned that no hardware issue except for my harddisk which i have replaced.

I have a 6 years old lenovo laptop which was also upgraded to win 10 but no issues at all.

I am pretty unfamiliar with a USB sound card, e earlier pic i posted i had tried to read up on it but not much review i even look up youtube for the video review.

If i plug it in i can play sounds or music from my laptop via the usb sound card and resolve my issue? or after plugging in the usb sound card i still need to buy a external speaker and plug it in?
