i drive to penang once/twice annually for holiday too. nice city of 750k pple only.

However, Singapore's population is 7.3times higher than Penang.

ultra crowded when whole country converge at the only casino in the country of 20+million citizens. Include tourist in the equation...i dont know what to think

As a season traveller this would be what hell would look like. For the new, first time traveller it would appear to be the ideal time for travel.

My take here. Earn 2 GP is nothing. It is paying with 2GP is really not cheap. The combo meal is something like chicken rice with a bowl of plain soup. It cost RM16 cash. Before you could take the cable car for 1Gp or Rm6 anytime any day.
But how much do you have to pay for the GP. You can make a straight purchase, no gambling, for RM23 per GP with the electronic roulette machine. Or gamble then you cost is indeterminate.

They are getting worse! No milo, no GP in NN package, cannot use GP on cable car, ...

Anyone here knows the shop name and address of the local delights (Tu Chan Dian) nearby the foot of genting? (The one Five Star Tour usually stops at after getting down from genting)

You all got read Wan bao 18 July, saying due to good exchange rate, many are changing to ringgit for upcoming hari raya holiday long weekend(cum sg national day).

And interview travel agency WTS said their coach to genting fully booked even after up price 150%.

Wah.. Become so expensive!

Casino - shoulder to shoulder with crowds
Theme park - Q until leg pain
Eats - Q at entrance until faint from hunger
Lifts (FWH carpark) - Q until take downwards stairs
Toilets - Smells as cleaner cannot cope with crowd

That is why i shunned Genting during Super Peak periods .. hate jostling with people.

thinking of going for a short getaway to genting. not of the theme parks, neither of the casino. just wanna go rest and relax kind.
but do you all think it's possible to go alone? like buying 1 coach ticket and a room to myself. does travel agency allow this?

Ya Why not you can of course go there alone...you can redeem the room if you have sufficient GP or you can booked the room with the travel agencies but if you buy the room via travel agencies it will cost you more as the prices quoted by them are Twin Sharing.

For me sometimes i do headup alone, booked room using GP and drive up. You know OTOT enjoy the weather, relax abit.

In that case..you can apply the worldcard over at Genting.
With regards to room rates you can find out via the few travel agencies or try deal.com cos sometimes they do have promo.

Remember there were recent promo to get FWH @ $88 with coach tix but thats twin sharing if not wrong.
