At the start of this longer than expected discussion, I stated I normally play the bare minimum to get a 3D2N FWH superior deluxue comp. For me that translates to 80 pts over 3D2N at the casino. I have never been lucky where I earn 20 points and got comped a Genting Grand room.

If you look at the web site, the cheapest you can pay for a superior deluxue room is RM 315. The room comp is therefore worth RM 630.

For 19 GP a day, you can get 2 meals in the casino. Each meal is worth RM 24. The 80 gp you earn can easily cover you 5 meals over 3D2N. These 5 meals are worth RM 120.

The total comps for clocking 80 gp is therefore RM 750.

If you clock the points via slots that translates to an expected loss RM 1600 to RM 3200.

If you play table games, the expected loss to clock 80 gp is much smaller given the casino edge is much lower than slots. The amount varies based on how much you bet, what game you play and how many pple are playing alongside you. For games which require skill eg pontoon, it also matters how well you play the game since the wrong play can substantially increase the casino edge.
I don't know if anyone here would agree with your statement I which I highlight in bold letters above.

All the fabulous Comps that you mention with "The total comps for clocking 80 gp is therefore RM 750" cost you about $10 for 1 GP. Looks awfully low to me.
Suggest you pay cash for food where you are paying $1 for 1 GP. GP is better used for booking higher category hotel rooms.

Blackjack is the only game where skill counts. The correct play is easily found online.
The House Advantage is about 0.60%. Baccarat is 1.35%, Roulette is 2.78% and Slot is 10% or more.

But how much Genting award GP for the different games is another matter.

Just a word of caution on "Expected Loss".
Your actual win/loss outcome varies greatly from this.
Where I am playing at the moment I buy $500 NN chips and I get extra $20.
This is a 4% advantage which is a good deal for BJ game.
But my last 2 sessions I have lost $300 and won $135. Much different from the "Expected Loss" of $3

I think he is including the 'value' of the 2N Superior Deluxe that he would comp for clocking 80GP at the table plus value of the meals that he would use the GP to change for. That how he arrives at his total comps value.

If you are paying cash for food, then you only get 1GP for every RM100 spent not RM1. On the other hand, if you use GP to pay for the food, then it is indeed 1GP = 1RM.

(Fun fact: You can even use GP to buy cigarettes inside the casino)

It makes no difference whether you use GP to book a hotel or pay for food or cablecar ride or whatever, the rate remains 1GP = 1RM. So a standard room at FWH will not cost 70GP if you choose to use GP to pay for the room. Of course, the rooms at Maxim (for Gold card and above) will set you back more.

Sadly, it is not(no longer) true that you will win blackjack even you follows the basic strategy. The continous shuffling machine has defeated all.

Many has been misled by online material and those fancy MIT card counting movies.

In the financial world, variance is usually seen as a bad thing. In the casino world, variance is often a good thing for the gambler. IMHO, the best game to play in the casino are those with low casino edge and huge variance.

Variance in Maths is what we know in everyday life as Luck.
If you flip a coin the expected outcome is 50/50 either way according to Maths.
But in everyday life we get this 50/50 outcome only in 12% of the time.
Other times you would get 40+/50+ outcome either way.

So for simplicity in casino for Baccarat if you bet on 1 side that occurs more often you can win.
But in the casino they have set the rules where the outcome is not the expected 50/50.
For Baccarat they would collect $1.35 for every $100 you bet.

For other games like Slot they would collect about $10 for every $100 you bet.
But in everyday life if you are Lucky you can still win at Slots.

The CSM, continous shuffling machine makes card counting impossible. Card counting can make the expected outcome positive for the player and have a negative House Advantage.

The online material is all on the American BJ and the MIT movies make BJ the most played game in the US.

Many malaysians like to play pontoon if you observed carefully. Not sure why, but i bet somebody must be saying this game can win money.

No blackjack on the general gaming floor, only in silver club and above . Not many tables also.

Some points of playing pontoon,

- know yr basic strategy well
- dont play at tables with many tourists
- dont play with pple anyhow whack
- dont play with newly open table, unless other pple started playing
- dont iron teeth, if cheng kay always winning, change table

The best way to gain gp point is do not play too long for a slot machine in eating mode. You can set a small bankroll of around 20 times your bet if the slot you are playing is in eating mode you lose this amount very quickly. Only continue playing a slot machine in paying mode meaning your credit keep going up in a short period of time each time because if you lose or win also gain point might as well win and gain point better. Very easy to know if your machine is in eating mode or paying mode, give yourself a small bankroll to check it out if you money goes down quickly mean the machine is eating mode and if you on a hot paying machine your money will goes up in short period of time big win or bonus come very early.

Yea, Pontoon is more popular here than BJ.

Like I said before it is considered as a carnival game, meaning it is a fun game to play.

You get paid straight away if you get 21 which is very different from BJ.
Also there are jackpot like payments when you have 6 7 8 or 7 7 7.
So the excitement is increased when you are 1 card away from this.
The other players on the table are also paid some small amount when this happens.

There are many other things I can say here but I would just restrict myself to one thing.

It is shocking to me to see how the soft 17, A6 card is mis-played.

In BJ if the dealer is allowed to hit soft 17 the House Advantage is increased by up to 40%.
You don't feel the difference in actual play but only the Maths can tell you the numbers.
Many do not know this and when they come over from Pontoon table to the BJ table it baffles me to see that they would stand on soft 17.

This is a double down card in BJ and to limit your advantage the casino restrict you to taking only 1 card. But to not even taking a card or cards you are giving up a very important advantage.

I have not seen any Basic Strategy charts for Pontoon so I do not know what the correct play would be. It is a more complicated game to play correctly with all the jackpot like payments.
I have no idea also what he HA is for Pontoon.

Stand on soft17, A6 ? Definitely not a
regular pontoon player. Regular will always hit with that.

There are lots of pontoon basic strategy charts online. Not much complicated than BJ.

In some ways, i can tell BJ pple crossing over to pontoon game. They are conservative in playing and "surrender" frequently.

Google for pontoon basic strategy.

Be careful to see they are not for blackjack.

Knowing the basic strategy will not guarantee you will win the game, however you must know it well.

People dont 100% played according to that, but aome minor twists .

I am interested to know if there’s any simple Pontoon Strategy as well.

May I know which slot game you apply this theory?
I encountered before, start to play, not bad have credit went up fast but machine eat back all the credit without the bonus game.
Some game only able to win when in the free game.
Some machine can give a big payout in normal spin.

I apply to all slot machine. Example if the slot machine is $1 per spin I will give myself loss limit of $20(bankroll 20 times bet), if lose this amount I stop playing. Winning goal $20 and above, if I am on a winning streak and I reach my winning goal I continue playing and set another winning goal of $20 and keep monitoring. Sooner or later my luck runs out and I began to lose once my money goes down by $20 I stop playing.

Tell you sometimes very suay you pick the machine very hungry. $1.50 per spin $30 loss limit less than 2 minutes gone.

I think you are saying there is no sure win technique or so.

If that's what u mean, yes.

In fact, most of the gambling will end up losing money. Slot machines, bacarrat, blackjack, sic bo, roulett, etc.

So, many gamblers will seek "strategy" in hope of winning, minimise losses.

Actually last whole year i visited local casino very frequently and noticed some pple are always present , whether i am there mon , wed or any random days.

I guess these could be the full time gamblers you referring to. Whether they can make a living out of it, i am not sure.

Personally my experience, i think not easy, the longer or frequent u played, the probablity of losing also increase.

It is not a matter of being "conservative" and "surrender frequently".

It is simple Maths.

Surrender HA is 0.56, if you don't surrender HA is 0.64. You are saving 14% of your money every time.
