In view of the recent landslide, is landslide a common thing for the road up and down Genting during rainy season ?

Btw does Genting get a lot of rain in December during the North East Monsoon ?

And the bus route will it be affected by heavy rain, flooding etc in Johor in December due to the monsoon ?

Or those only on eastern part ?

Come to think of it, I've never taken a night bus there before.

Hmmm. Perhaps I can try that out. Don't mind sacrificing one night. Still have 2 other nights to enjoy. Hehe. We'll see.

And just checked Agoda's Genting Grand pricing for the 3 nights that I'm going. Total of $1100! Wtf! The more I'm appreciating my comp stay! Hehe.

Aiya... dun waste yr GG CS room la...the Prosperity Room Deal (only avail for booking via call/ website/ laptop) really worth it la...u only need a few hrs power nap in FWH Deluxe room ...then go to the casino i-kiosk n redeem yr free RM200 worth of table games chips or etg/slots credits..

i normally go for etg-roulette and "wash" the NN credits by placing on both Red & Black (u can place RM10 on "O" for insurance if not confident)...wala! U get free room after encashing on the RM200 NN.

Btw - fr experience, u shud opt for room with carpark/ hotel front view (CS are fr 10th to 16th floor). G.Grand doesn't hv a direct mountain view... blocked by unsightly structures.

Pudu Sentral or KL Sentral got more things to do if I'm taking express bus? :s13:

Looking to try local food too.

KL Sentral has a huge shopping mall just next to them. It's probably bigger than Vivo. 1 Utima Shopping Centre is also big. You will have things to do for sure. But not sure if it's a good place to try local food or not.

I usually go to Huatong (next to Bukit Bintang). There's a lot of famous 'local' food there but they have been 'up classed' so expect to pay a bit more. I dun mind because it's quite convenient to reach.

To truly try local food, you will really need to explore and a lot of places will not be that near to local transport.

A few quick updates from my latest trip up the mountain.

The rates for the short-stay at FWH/XYZ has changed.

Bro vsvs24 has mentioned this but now with GPGT!

A new eating place is coming soon. Taking over from Bubbles and Bites.

And next to the BKT store near to Highline (L4), a new Teochew Porridge and Chicken Rice store has opened.

Last but not least, this is the revised schedule to/from KL Sentral Express Bus.

The casino was quite empty when I visited this trip but that was the general area. Not sure whether the Gold Room is more crowded. The first early morning I arrive was even weirder. All the tables on L1 Sky Casino were not opened. And it may have made sense if they were carrying out maintenance or cleaning etc but they were not doing anything.

Monte Carlo looks to be permanently closed. Maxim (Lower) Gold Club is also closed. But the old casino still looks reasonably supported. I'm sure the Maxim Gold (Upper) Club is crowded.

@Paul

Did u arrive on the 4th? 4th morning all slots at sky casino can't play with membership card as comms system was down. Can still insert cash and play but need the staff to pass u the handout slip when u want to cash out.

Awesome! Thanks for the info! Will certainly look up that deal.

And will see whether a club suite with a good view is available :)

Thanks for sharing. How long does the journey usually take for you, from SG to Genting? :s12:

fastest was abt 5hrs fr changi. slowest was abt 6hrs fr senai. both count fr spore hm. if fr my jb hse doorstep, it was abt 4hrs but i had a limousine waiting at klia. these days i fly fr jb. grab to senai, fly, grab. vice versa upon return, stay in jb. i mean this option is a privilege but u can sleep a night at cheap msian htl near senai even better. save on grab n can enjoy a day at jb.
