Thanks for reminder bro @givansingapore . I think you refer to the Cancel button when room number is generated after selecting add-on. It's worth doing some homework in advance so that can decrypt the type of room one is assigned with from number, although I guess the system will sure maximize Genting's benefit by deliberately assigning lousy rooms (facing generator or zero sunlight) to guests who don't pay for view options.

Limited samples here, but let's see what others saw on their screens at different timings. Pardon for WoT.

1) RWG demonstration video, 2017. There was a "Theme Park View" option which is no longer seen in any other recent screens (blocked by new construction, maybe?).

2) Actual Y5 Triple check-in at 12.31pm on Monday, 24 Jun 2019 (probably peak, since school holiday ended on 30 Jun that year). Non-smoking room option is not available to choose separately, but allowed at RM5 in triple-combo under More Option (total RM15). Guest chose zero add-on (but with RM5 early check-in) and was assigned with Room 3978 (low-level facing RSC1 hostel).

3) Actual Deluxe check-in at 6.00pm on Friday, 28 Aug 2020 (Friday peak). Mountain View fully snapped, but non-smoking room can be chosen separately free of charge. More Option is available. Guest chose zero add-on and was assigned with Room 1829 (zero-sunlight room).

4) Actual Y5 Triple check-in between 12-3pm on Friday, 4 Sep 2020 (Friday peak). Mountain View still available, but non-smoking room can be chosen separately free of charge. More Option is available. Guest chose non-smoking room and was charged with RM5 (early check-in). Room assigned is unknown.

In conclusion,
- non-smoking room option was free at least before Sep 2020, but is still promised as free in the reservation confirmation as of Jun 2022.
- Mountain View rooms are available between 12-3pm, unsure between 3-4pm, and most likely running out by 5-6pm.
- the initial system in 2017 only allowed one special room request per check-in, but has been added with triple-combo since 2020 for multiple requests. Triple-combo is the only instance where non-smoking is chargeable at RM5.
- if you don't add on anything, you get a lousy room at first, no matter how early you check in. The only unsure thing is whether restarting the entire check-in process secures a better room.
- lack of non-peak samples (Mon-Thu outside PH and school holiday) to examine.

How different are they from the kiosk screen layout you saw, @Taurus66 ?

We were there 6 nights staying first world hotel. The room are so dirty that we have to mop the floor ourselves using the floor rug . Basin also have stains and hair . It’s so different from 2 years ago .

OMG...we have stayed in fwh rooms that were not properly cleaned b4 covid. Could see long strands of hair on the floor and practically had to wear footwear inside the room.

i m not haolian or boasting.
just stating reality.
if our 1 slot tab is 11.20 for example, the last thing on our mind is to go look at what rewards you get. am i right?
its only when all play is over or during pee time, we might view our earn&redeem items. its only those sticky free offers like durians n nnchips or nnslots that have a period to claim that i m interested.
but now uncomfortable things are changing for members particularly those in btwn gold n platinum mbrs. genting hasnt got enuf pR officers to handle their matters n grand n highlands htl are not quite available unless invited.
i recently made an enquiry with a grand htl staff who said even some 'lower' spending plat mbrs are not receiving the service theyre expecting. really good riddance.
for me after another few donations to mr lim, i will see whether its worth to cont the hardship trip just to be giveñ the cold shoulder. must be crazy to continue sia!

What you say it true….only first world available at the moment…I’m switching to cruise from July onwards….

I told all my friends that I am not interested to visit Genting Highlands for the next one year even I am given complimentary hotel room to stay and with another RM1000 to gamble. Just a lousy and low standard place to visit at this moment.

Not given free rooms is not the only issue. So many feedback about dirtiness and lack of housekeeping. The basic requirement is to have a clean room to rest. The Genting we are all familiar with seems to be changed.

Hopefully it is because of the crowd due to Jun school holidays.

Not just school holidays...they r too slow in ramping up the services/manpower (hotel & casino) in preparation for the border opening. How many of us cud get thru the room reservation hotline? Even their physical customer service counters also no longer do room reservations - every dept had been downsized....the Casino is like a cold desert without even free plain water provided - I can't believe it that such basic/essential thing like water they r trying to cut down all in the name of COVID SOP's? Looks more like taking advantage of the situation....but Genting is really shooting it's own foot by doing so.
