wow.. my colleague with family went Genting last week, and he said it was super crowded.
Casino crowded, mall crowded, hawker crowded... why? Periodic Raining for 2-3 days.
Theme Park rides on-off depends on weather.. and ride queues minimum 1 hours despite of vip express queue.

Havent confirmed yet, hearsay all old existing card need to be replaced to one that could accommodate GEM (Genting Electronic Money) data storage.

Next week I visit, I will register and link using SG NRIC, so that hotel kiosk booking not linked with old passport but matched name in NRIC, will not failed when i return with a new renewed passport in future.
Really..need to replace old card..check and let us know pls. Thanks

The kiosk scan your passport and not your NRIC. So there is no way to link your hotel booking with your NRIC. In fact Genting already has your NRIC info since this document is a prerequisite when applying for the membership card in the first place.

NRIC number is available on the Passport. Unless the Kiosk System is so dump as in trying to match using the Passport number only instead of both with NRIC plus name etc. 🤣 Believe is same for the Cruise check-in.

The optical matching from the kiosk may be the document itself instead of data string matching.

Besides, if the NRIC info is really extractable from the passport in the first place by the kiosk, l would have successfully checked in using the new passport many years back and not need to update the information then.

Image reader should be capable to recognise the words found and attempt to match them against their database. If system only uses the Passport number and ignore the NRIC number then is not a very smart system. 🤣

Over the year the system would have been enhanced or upgraded. However if it ignore the NRIC number found on the Passport it will never be able to do alternative or multi-ways matching.

actually when I was up there early May this year. lucky got maxims so chkin no issue But when trying to play slot, card cldnt work. So went to counter to chk and the officer asked for our passports n IC and they updated everything n issued a new member card. Then early this mth when I chkin FWH using passport, everything was smooth. So ya go update with counter immediately to link ic n pp so future trips no problem. But I not sure how many more future trip I will go. My next one this mth might be last one for time being because they give my wife maxims (highland) htl. If they don't give min highlands I won't go again.

Doesn't matter to me. Believe what you choose to believe. Someone will have to have a booking linked to the NRIC # and successfully check in from the kiosk to provide the field report. All else is still speculation to me at this point of writing.

Their new room allocation by 2-4 mths period? Seems no more by monthly - unless it's a "retargetting" campaign.
Seems like so. I'm receiving room allocation between May-July, Jun, July-Aug and Aug-Dec. Seems like all types of room allocation strategy.
