I always think it's worth every dollar to take a private taxi (Alphard, Sarex, Saria, e.t.c.) for a trip up north, so long there is/are senior(s) in the group. If you have a couple of minutes, here are my justifications:

- Seniors need not have to wake up very early for the trip.
- Seniors need not have to carry or drag their luggage around.
- Seniors need not have to set off early to take a bus; or book/hire a cab (or grab) to the embarkation point.
- Seniors need not to transit up and down the steep, though short, staircase of the tour bus.
- Seniors need not have to disembark for custom clearances.
- Seniors need not have to carry their luggage through the MY (going there) /SG (coming back) customs.
- Seniors need not have to worry that their biometric signatures don't work at the customs.
- Seniors need not have to hold their bladders until designated rest stops (max 2)
- Seniors need not have to take a bus; or book/hire a cab (or grab) from the disembarkation point to home.

Worth a thot!

Hand to heart, no local companies will accept any jobs to ferry Singaporeans from Singapore to Genting and back for S700+. They can't earn anything! May even incur losses too.

And if they cannot do the job, why not let others who can, so long these MY private taxis do not take Grab-equivalent jobs within Singapore will do. Cross-Border transportation should be gladly welcome. It's a win-win for both countries actually.

Anyone try using Genting point to book room for yr family member and same time book free room . Different hotel but same timing . Will the system reject when you check in?

No. Even same hotel same room type also no issue as long as there's 2nd passport and family member for face scan.

I always book Crockfords free room and point deduction room from first world hotel to get free gift upon check in.

Booked coach tixs from Busonline. Today received an email from them :

This is an important reminder to complete your Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) for Foreign Visitor Online before departure. While it can be filled in at immigration, the bus may not wait more than 20 minutes, and you may miss your trip.

Please complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) for Foreign Visitor Online as soon as possible to ensure a smooth and timely departure.

You may ignore this email if you are a Malaysian nationality.

Is this scam or something new ? Did not have to fill anything when I went in Jan.

I also received the same email from Busonline last mth, but i didnt filled it.

because by right Sg passport dont need to fill it.

All foreign citizens traveling to Malaysia must complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC), except:
i)
Citizens of Singapore;
ii)
Diplomatic and Official Passport holders;
iii)
Malaysian Permanent Residents and Long Term-Pass holders;
iv)
General Certificate of Identity (GCI) Brunei Darussalam holders;
v)
Brunei Malaysia Frequent Traveller Facility holders;
vi)
Thailand Border Pass holders; and
vii)
Indonesia Cross-Border Travel Document (PLB) holders. Effective 1 January 2024, completion of this MDAC will be mandatory,
except those listed above.

However, you may fill it to be safe as who knows the autogate might be not working on the time when we clear the custom.

Doesn't really matter. I have never utilized mine (500) so far, as we (our group) prefer to patronize eateries which we have not tried before. Our target is to complete all the makan places in the resort before we are totally broke or immobile.

As for travel subsidies... I have never once received any e-mail nor sms-es (not sure why though), but whenever I curiously do a check at the self-service kiosks, it will always juggle from 200 to 0 to 500 to 300 to whatever amount they so decided to give me.

Bottomline: Just have fun and enjoy! Best, if we can bring back some winnings too.
