Back from a 1-week trip. Sharing some experience.
Transport
Took the KTM Tebrau Shuttle from Woodlands and then the new ETS Train (Business Class) from JB Sentral to KL Sentral then Genting Taxi up. ETS Train seats are super firm but two rounds of food served (Chick Rice Lunch + Popcorn and Apple Juice Tea-Break).
Took around 9hrs+ from leaving home to check-in. Quite tiring and one day considered lost.
Travelled via Firefly flight on the trip back and took only around 6hrs. Left Genting 1hrs earlier to expend my PP entitlement at airport lounge before cancelling my CC.
Hotel
Thanks to experts here. Tried the online check-in via app. Check-in can be done after 12pm with a room number assigned.
First 2 nights at Highland Hotel (former Resort Hotel) (2nd most corner room overlooking theme park). Great view. Because it's weekend the "bass" from the concert hall kept thumping. Neighboring room also attempted to "force open" connecting room door.
2nd part stayed at the new RW Hotel (former Highlands) corner room facing Resort Hotel and KL city. View from room is excellent. Corner room is smaller than corridor room. Had a great 4-night stay without any incident.
Additional Points
RW Hotel recently installed a new gym at 18th Floor. Great for routine exercise. Has inclined treadmill and bicycles and a few strength machines. Towels and simple refreshments provided FOC. Swimming pool also opened. Need room card (GG or RW) to access.
Fortune corner at the newly opened Lifestyle Casino has decent Bak Kut Teh (RM35). No crowd suitable for those who prefer more peace during meals.
The games at the lifestyle Casino required GP earned for Gaming. For Gold Card member, GP earned at non-VIP Casino cannot be exchanged for the voucher to play the games. Only at Gold Club area or Sky Casino Level 3 are eligible.
2GP - 15 mins of play
5 GP - 1 hours of play
GP will not be deducted but need to earn the 5GP from gaming to be able to exchange for tickets to the game. Print out the ticket from the membership kiosk and exchange the ticket for the voucher at Fortune Corner Cashier. Then approach the friendly staff who are happy to assist.
