It's to be expected that Singtel would eventually copy Starhub's playbook by letting their low-cost sub-brand offer broadband also. It's a wonder they took so long.

What's interesting is that unlike the parent Singtel, gomo broadband comes with an ONT by default! No more bridging nonsense. So ironically, the cheap gomo plan is actually better than Singtel!

A few questions remain as to whether they offer IPv6 (unlikely), and whether they will have less traffic priority compared to Singtel users.

One thing is for sure, however - they will have the same crap international routing as Singtel, possibly even worse.

They claim that they don't throttle speed.

How will Whizcomms respond?

In the "View GOMO Optical Network Terminal self-installation guide", it states that a Singtel XGS Optical Network Router (ONR) will be provided. However, there is an asterisk with the following note:

This device is labelled "Optical Network Router" (ONR) but is configured to operate in ONT mode. Do not factory reset the device, as reconfiguration may be required.

I will consider it after my contract with whizzcom ends this year. Bridged ONR is still better than ONR.

Just wait a few months, M1 will have better offer. That time when i waited, they gave a good 6gbps deal with good router.
