Good budget ssd recommendation?

Remember last time the recommended budget ssd is zotac, but now like cannot find it. So is there any good budget ssd to recommend? Need those small sized ssd around 120/128gb can liao. Thanks in advanced

I thought Kingston ssd was boycotted because of some review unit vs retail unit or something like that happened?

Techdeals (beside pc themes) selling wd green ssd 120gb for $79 fyi. Bought stuff from them before so it's kinda trustable

Anyways do you think it is wise to have a 120gb ssd or should I get a 240gb ssd instead? The reason I'm asking is because I read somewhere that for ssd, more free space would be more faster ssd as compared to a 90-99% filled ssd.

Get from Tech Deals. WD Greens are basically Sandisk SSDs that is just relabeled. Kingston SSD works fine, using the older V300 120GB in my HTPC for at least 4 years without any issue.

Depends on what size you need. If you are light user and does disk clean up often, a 120GB is enough. Able to install 1-3 games from steam and still has some space left over. Then add Mechnical HDD for storage of media files.

If you want to install a lot of games, get a 256 or 512 GB SSDs...

SSD's will have their own buffered unused space that is used for error correction and stuff so having full SSD isn't a huge problem. Having full system OS drive is the problem be it SSD or HDD...

Well, there are brands in Toshiba Q300, SanDisk SSD Plus, Samsung EVO 750; which are 120 / 128 GB which are still good after doing multiple cloning and backup.

actually for casual non pro user, do you feel the diff between using a NVME ssd vs a vanilla TLC ssd?

I moved on from a Sandisk Z400S budget SSD to 850 EVO. I don't feel a thing. maybe the gap i moved is too small?

Actually, sata ssd much faster. The only good thing about nvme is that if you are handling large files (e.g. 4gb), they copy in a few seconds

For windows 7 startup, sata loads windows before the dots join together. Whereas for nvme, the dots join liao then wait 1-2 seconds then will go to the welcome screen

For game loading, sata is slightly faster also (tested with battlefield 4 and grand theft auto 5)

It is half correct.

Boot up time sata wins. This is becoz pcie/m.2 need more initialize time compared to sata.

Everything else nvme wins.
