Good value for money pc casing

I am using Jonsbo UMX3 right now. But i would say you should only go for it if you love this exterior. Interior is pretty difficult to work with and there are clearance limitations when it comes to CPU cooler, GPU and PSU..

I'm starting to check out the options for ATX cases too... and realizes that apparently many of the cases nowadays don't have 5.25" bay anymore
I still want to put in an internal DVD-RW drive..

Like a few others have mentioned, coolermaster master box 5 is the case to go. I am using it as of now (Model No. MCY-B5S1-KWYN-04). I got mine from PCThemes.

Do note that there are variations for the master box 5. Some variations do not come with the 5.25" drive bay out of the box, thus must be purchased optionally.

Hi guys, wanted to try to buy a mid tower casing from amazon until I realised prices are quite high. Any nice cases nowadays with good dust protection? Was looking at cooler master master box 5, around 100 bucks from sim lim. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Asus G20 keeps out dust ridiculously well. Learnt a thing or two about how it managed dust.


Basically, for dust protection, its more a matter of managing your intakes and exhaust
You need to fit at least one dust filter in the intake fan section. That is where dust will gather most

You can black tape the rest of the vents if you can tunnel the intake to the exhaust section. Taped u my Silverstone SG05 Lite when i modded it to fit an ATX PSU. Dust protection was pretty good.

V2000 had a traditional intake through the bottom front, through its 12x hdd bays, then exhaust through its PS and rear 120mm fan. Case was roomy enough to easily clean.

I am using the Tecware Quad. Motherboard resting horizontally. So far so good. Very spacious and easy yo hide the cables.

Thanks! I intend to have more intake than exhaust so pressure is good! Lian Li a bit more ex, I think I'm leaning towards the Masterbox 5, seems to be at that sweet spot for price and ease of installation.

How does the PSU exhaust air? The rear exhaust is facing the top of the casing, which is blocked.

Should be, but does not look efficient as the back cut-out does not directly face the PSU exhaust.

A little late, but for those who might consider the coolermaster masterbox 5, this is my PC (Model No. MCY-B5S1-KWYN-04):

Top view. Has hole mounts for one 120/140mm fan.

It may not be obvious, but with this picture, I intended to show the clearance between the top fan and the RAM. If you have a slim 120mm radiator, you probably could do with a single fan at the top; push-pull setup is impossible. 240mm radiator is only possible at the front.

Routed it from the front. There is a cut out beside the HDD cage if you have two HDDs and can't run cables from below.
