All along me is seeing agoda , trivago n asiatravel until pple told me Expedia .. 😍

Agoda and expedia and booking.com normally should be the msot popular one when
booking comes to mind ...

expedia is reliable...
however recently, my friends have encountered situations whereby the hotel have failed to receive their booking. eventually they have to pay hotel first, while the hotel check their booking with the 3rd party company ...

Still on hotels.com as the free night stay can be cheaper than per night stay if travel often and consistent in staying at the class of hotel.

Expedia only if have hotel + flight deal.

depends on what type of hotel u r booking ...
forr example, if you book 10 nties of 5 stars hotel ...
each nite is 200sgd, rrebate per nite perhaps is about 17sgd, after minus the taxes amt ...

hence ur free nite value would be 17*10 = 170sgd
you can use to book a 3 stars hotel which would be lower value than 170sgd

Example 2: If you book 10 nites of 2 stars hotel
each nite is 50sgd, rebate per nite is abt 4sgd, after minus the taxes amt
free nite is 4*10 = 40sgd
that amt is not even enuff to book your 2 stars hotel ...

Trivia: expedia, hotels.com, travelocity are all the same company so u generally find the same hotel inventory on those sites. There are one or two others that also belong to expedia. However their reward systems differ.

Pls stay away from vayama.
They are terrible when it comes to customer service n refunds.

expedia , hotels.com , together with some other sites, fall under the same category ...

expedia rewards is basically quite useless ...
hotels.com at least have rebate, if you hotel does not qualify you to use discount.

Exactly. As long where i stay is consistent, the rewards can stack plus they have a few levels of loyalty grades so in my case, it works out as now i get minimum 8% code discount for my bookings nowadays.

I wont say expedia is totally useless.
U can book flights n cars under expedia too which makes the rewards more achievable.

Hotels.com, u can only use for hotels.

wondering what can u do with the expedia points ...
not very attractive ...
just like agoda rewards, u need to spend 1250USD to get 25000 points
to get rebate of 25 USD

Should not be having cashback (if you are referring to shopback)

like that have to do some mathematics..
weather booking with agoda with 10% discount is better than using the shopback thingy...

I think really depend on which month you travel and which hotel stay you looking at.
eg; like my Bangkok stay I booked direct with hotel because of it promotion rate.

then my Penang I booked from expedia, cheaper among all other site because got 10% off credit card promo (forget which bank)

last month I booked my stay with Capella Singapore through asiatravel because it offer the cheapest rate among all other website

actually hor if you all book u might as well use cashback. heres what i usually do to save more:

1. expedia via shopback got 8% cashback. very good for ex bookings (e.g. you spend $1000 on hotel den 8% = $80 loh)
2. agoda via shopback got $10... sometimes i see $15 cashback before. got minimum spend $50. but it means you book cheap bkk hotel for $100 = you get $15 cashback or 15% (damn good deal)
3. booking.com via shopback also got $10
4. zuji > i never use before

the best is still can get credit card points n promo n all so dont say i never share. too bad shopback dont have airbnb cos actually i use that the most :( link for special bonus for hwz pp shared in other threads: https://www.shopback.sg/hwz got $5 signup bonus
