I checked my APN settings, they are on StarHub Internet APN... :s22: Still couldnt be solved :(

Try to factory reset your phone. Encountered once for me. I guess some app is disrupting the data connection of the phone. I did a factory reset and everything is back to normal.

I used to have the DHD too, so I do know both phones pretty well.

I'm not gona type a whole wall of text just to compare both phones. But if u wana get the Nexus, get it for the right reasons, i.e. because u want the updates the fastest compared to other phones and u are also technically competent enough. Why I say that is because the GN has some shortcomings which if u root and flash 3rd party stuff, it's going to make a lot of those shortcomings go away.

Or if u can wait 3 mths, wait for the SGS3. That's a must get!

hi bros, need some help with my gnex.

I can bluetooth teather to my ipad without any problems (a bit slow, but still ok la), but when I try to usb teather to cpu, the cpu says no internet connection detected (i disconnected the cat5 cable). I already enabled usb teathering under gnex settings.

Last time using iphone 3gs no problem with connecting via cable.

Are there any additional steps I must do?

Screen Defect?

blackspotsi.jpg

Realise that my Gnex screen is similar to the right side of the photo when in dark room, in which i can see some obvious black spot. But in bright places, cannot see it. This is a screen defect right? I went to the Samsung Service Centre and they said need to send in to diagnose.

Anyone also encounter this problem?

Nope, what are the settings must I do?

Windows XP???

If yes then,

Windows XP contains the drivers you need to take advantage of USB tethering, but you must install a configuration file before connecting your phone to your Windows XP computer, to instruct Windows XP how to configure itself to use those drivers.

Download the following configuration file (tetherxp.inf) to your Windows XP computer. Typically, you can right click on the link and choose "Save As". (If your browser appends .html to the file name, you will need to edit the name to remove the .html extension.)
Use the USB cable that came with your phone to connect your phone to your computer.
On the Android phone, press Home, press Menu, and touch Settings to open the Settings application.
Touch Wireless & networks > Tethering & portable hotspot.
Check USB tethering.
When Windows XP’s New Hardware Wizard opens, select No, not at this time and click Next.
Select Install from a list or specific location and click Next.
Click Browse to browse to the directory where you installed the configuration file you downloaded in Step 1 and click Next. Windows XP uses the configuration file to configure itself to support USB tethering with the Android phone.
When Windows XP finishes installing the software for Android USB Ethernet/RNDIS, click Finish.
You can now use the new Windows XP local area network connection provided by your phone via USB tethering. For more information about configuring networks in Windows XP, see the documentation that comes with Windows.

Why dont you use Mobile hotspot, turn on Hotspot on GNex..the rest of the device will see your GNex as Router. get connected easily.

Just curious if you will be able to ignore this problem or will you go to the Samsung Service Centre to fix it?

I'll ignore since we seldom use the phone in the dark. Only before bed time then we use to do some bedtime gaming or reading. Well I convinced her it's the anti glare screen protector fault. Haha. Btw, do u have the report or news abt this screen defect? Anyway, the phone is working fine(touch wood).
