I'll ignore since we seldom use the phone in the dark. Only before bed time then we use to do some bedtime gaming or reading. Well I convinced her it's the anti glare screen protector fault. Haha. Btw, do u have the report or news abt this screen defect? Anyway, the phone is working fine(touch wood).

Galaxy Nexus Screen - What's Normal, What's Not. (Photos!) - xda-developers

Most of them are able to get 1-1 exchange from the mobile service provider as well as Samsung. But Singapore law is so different, unable to get 1-11 exchange. I went to the service centre to check, they say they will send in to diagnose first..

Try to factory reset your phone. Encountered once for me. I guess some app is disrupting the data connection of the phone. I did a factory reset and everything is back to normal.

That means all my stuff and apps will be... :s22:

No Choice. Even you bring it to Samsung Service Centre, your data will be also wipe out. Just do a backup on your sms. Once you reset your phone, your apps will be auto downloaded when you first sign in with your google account.

I even went to down to Singtel Centre to swap for a brand new SIM card to ensure that it is not their network setting issues and conclude that the phone itself has issue.

I used to have the DHD too, so I do know both phones pretty well.

I'm not gona type a whole wall of text just to compare both phones. But if u wana get the Nexus, get it for the right reasons, i.e. because u want the updates the fastest compared to other phones and u are also technically competent enough. Why I say that is because the GN has some shortcomings which if u root and flash 3rd party stuff, it's going to make a lot of those shortcomings go away.

Or if u can wait 3 mths, wait for the SGS3. That's a must get!

i gotta admit.. rooting is definitely something "scary" to me.. lol..

but there are alot of guides to root the galaxy nexus? seems to be a few click and follow the instructions type... so still not too bad i suppose?? ...

may be considering to get this new hp.. although im put of by the RRP even signing on 2 year conteact..

u can consider the HTC One X. honestly if it was launched earlier, I might get this instead of the Nexus because the delay for the Nexus was so annoying n the One X has better hardware than the Nexus in almost all fronts!

Better hardware but HTC might screw it up with the touch sense overlay. For me I will seriously wait for the phone to arrive, try out then decide. No confidence with the touch sense.

Root also tough. and the added risk since the battery is non removable right?

HTC has 26gb usable.

Touch screen hard to say, sometimes also depended on the type of screen protector, my experience is the matte one no fingerprint but less sensitive, but works perfectly with clear ones. Some more this time round its a new screen (Super LCD 2) so no idea.

thats easy to say for all you seasoned vets.. :D

btw can share some links for rooting Galaxy nexus?? THanks!

coming from an apple user. and considering Nexus to be my official 1st android phone, rooting, flashing a custom rom is indeed relatively easy.

just like Jailbreak an iphone :D

Anyone find the default volume for the Galaxy Nexus to be damn soft?

Why nowadays a lot of phones have such a low volume for ringtones? The loudest still BlackBerry.
