RT @Android We’ve started rolling out Android 4.0.4, Ice Cream Sandwich, to UMTS/GSM Nexus S, Xoom Wi-Fi, and HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus devices.

clear the market cache and also clear the data and relogin again...

also, may sounds stupid and a reboot will solve 99.9% of the problem :D

Galaxy Nexus Root without bootloader unlocking

Somehow i missed the this rooting method on Galaxy Nexus rooting without unlocking bootloader, the exploit is working well..just rooted my Galaxy Nexus without unlocking the bootloader. Well, i used it mainly for CWM easy manual install of early Official ROM.. The Galaxy Nexus recovery required update.zip on CACHE really killing me..

[HOW-TO] Root Galaxy Nexus without Unlocking Bootloader (via exploit) - xda-developers
Just blindly follow the instruction..the best copy/paste all commands to avoid typo error..

I used the same exploit method to root all Nexus devices (Nexus One, Nexus S and now Galaxy Nexus ) !!

No bootloader unlocking, data intact..cool

my set is yakujxw, maybe that's the cause of my 3g problem. basically, after come out of 2g coverage, I notice the phone network doesn't go into the higher speed hspa:11 band, it gets stuck at the lower speed hsdpa:9 band until I turn off and on the data. gonna try flash it to yakuj. if still cannot gonna buy the htc one x liao.

But flashing it to yakujx doesn't mean you will get the OTA too. If I'm not wrong.
the main reason is to resolve my 3g data speed issue. also, i read online that yakuj is by google themselves, while yakujxw is modified by samsung, so yakuj shld get the ota updates faster. anyway i've flashed it to the yakuj firmware, still not ota for 4.0.4.

All my nexus devices(Nexus One, Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus) are permanently locked to WCDMA only..this is to avoid the stupid 2G/3G jumping around..and i still find the policy of higher signal strength will get locked on..For data centric phone..i want ultimate speed..full bar 2G is hopeless compare to 1 bar 3G signal.

Try permanently locking your phone to 3G..if those areas that you frequent dont suffer complete no 3G or little complete drop-out area ..

Use the phone debug #*#*info*#*# to do the 3G locking ,just in case you dont know this step..

i tried, but the setting always got back to 3g/cdma(prl) after i restart my phone. anyway, i tried wcdma and and wcdma preferred, same thing, after i move from 2g to 3g coverage, the 3g network won't go to hspa until i off on the data.
