i tried, but the setting always got back to 3g/cdma(prl) after i restart my phone. anyway, i tried wcdma and and wcdma preferred, same thing, after i move from 2g to 3g coverage, the 3g network won't go to hspa until i off on the data.
After setting to WCDMA only..wait a while..till the radio go off and ON again..otherwise the setting wont stick.

The phone wont permanently stay at 'H' till you do data access...it will switch from 3G-> H..that is UMTS to HSPA. My phone 4.0.2 stock will stay on the setting even after reboot.

How frequent you reboot your phone ? Create a short cut to the setting with app ->AnyCut..this way you can set it back easily.

Are you having 2G<->3G jumping problem or 3G not going to H ? what are you real problem ?

ok...so it looks like maybe my firmware had problem out of the box already.

i've waited for the signal to go off and on, the setting will be there when i check again, but won't if i restart the phone. my phone doesn't switch from 3g to H. it stays at H permanently.

i sometimes reboot my phone.

not 2g<->3g jumping problem. cos my office building some areas no 3g coverage, only got 2g. when i move to an area with 3g coverage, the H shows up. i do a speedtest, and then i off and on data and do a speed test again, the speed will be double that before i off on the data. i realised its because the network doesn't go to hspa after it goes into the 3g coverage area, instead it goes to hsdpa instead, which is a slower version of 3g.

This thing again..Pls see FAQ

Q: Differences between a local set and an export set?
A: Export mobile phones are sold for the purpose of export sales only. They are compatible with our local mobile networks but they are not approved for use within Singapore. Export sets are sold without warranty and they are often sought after because consumers want to purchase a certain type of model of phone before it is officially launched in the country.

It's already otherwise stated with that Export Set below the price. If you notice, that paragraph u quote is the same template use for all the phones regardless of export or local.

yes what im trying to say that if u at the home page, u click GNex at the bottom of the page, it brings you to a $698 price, not stating if its local or export, plus giving the paragraph making people think its a local set

some findings about the network type in 4.0.4. now phone detects a new network type which is HSPAP:15, searched a bit and it refers to hspa+. in *#*#4636#*#*, the default now is WCDMA Preferred, previously was GSM/CDMA(PRL), should help in battery life and network speed since there's no CDMA in singapore.
