im no designer but i think the bezel is thick for a reason. its for all the circuitry, chips etc not just for show. so either we get a thinner bezel or a thinner phone..not both. kind of like pick your poison

Other than that I think the bezel provide a space for you to hold without touching the screen.

I still think that they should have made the bezel thinner so it looks sleeker. The huge bezel around the screen just makes the phone looks kinda funny. If the are soft keys still, then it's fine, but now no more soft keys, it's kinda silly looking.

Yeah...the top and bottom bezel area should be reduced if possible. A notification light/speaker port shouldn't artificially elongate the phone.

This isn't a tablet. People are not going to hold their phones by the bezel to prevent accidental touches. Lots of phones have smaller bezels AND thin design, so this shouldn't be an excuse.

But it does add to my conspiracy theory that Samsung just wants the best for their own Galaxy line gadgets and not the Nexus line. It's obvious that Samsung is holding back when they designed the GN in terms of hardware. Even though Google laid the hardware requirements for their Nexus line, those specs are probably minimal for the OS to function decently.

Get over it. Life's fair. Your theory would only be right if Samsung made only 1 single model for themselves, and it crapped all over the Nexus in every single way. And Google had a choice to accept/reject the design/specs - Evidently they didn't.

Considering that the pros of notification lights, curved screen and docking port is debatable, the Galaxy Note has the rest, a faster chip, an arguably better gpu, a larger battery and a larger HD display. All that packed in a thin and small bezel.

Samsung didn't make only one model, but it did release one nearly the same time as the GN and comparisons between the 2 is unavoidable. And more are saying that the Note has better muscle than the GN.

Battery life: use this morning from 7am to 7pm (12hr). 30 mins for music, rarely used since have OR today. Used once a while during break and after work, left 51%. Clove delivery by dhl is very fast, within 2 days arrive at doorstep. Since sgbest has it, should go for it. Just take note that the headphone jack is at bottom, and the speaker is quite soft, so you can turn on full volume in office without scaring anyone.

the price of $955 doesn't inc GST right? did u ask them how the local warranty works? i suppose all they'll do is send it back to the uk for u and u are without a phone for a few weeks?

nope, doesnt include GST.,,total came to about $1030 sgd
I went with this over Clove cos of the local warranty + avoid foreign transaction fee if i bought from UK. I did not ask how warranty works but 1 yr and local sealed the deal for me. Even if they send it overseas, I have a backup phone and can deal with it (if it comes to that)

1 qn.. does the video cam autofocus continuously when recording? if it doesn't, then can u at least autofocus first then start recording?
