root, u can still use titamium to restore to factory default, iirc
den still can go service center...

instead of export, y not buy used?

Do u guys think that its worth to get export set now if I am going to root it? No experience with samsung hardware to know if it is sturdy or not. Any input appreciated.

Info sharing:
Titanium can only restore apps when the phone is booted and loaded up.

Recovering back to Stock can be achieve by using Clockwork mod Recovery or TWPR or ODIN.

Locking OEM can be achieve via fastboot.

The thing that void warrenty is the OEM unlock, and probably if they are sharp to see if you have a custom firmware.

That's why I wanna get nexus. Fastboot command to lock it back can liao. Also saw some one click unroot and back to stock software posted at xda developers.

Sharp enough to see if we left a mark? Is that possible?

U bought it from telco and got yakju version?.. anyway..

Those who cant receive the notification for 4.0.4 with yakju version.
1 go settings/apps then hit the 'all' tab at the top
2 Scrll down to goggle service framwork then press it to open it
3 Hit the clear button
4 go to settings/about phone/System updates the date will be 1970 this is ok
5 Hit the check button
6 nexus should now show update to 4.0.4 is Available, else repeat step 1 to 6.

Got this from xda. Credits to them. Tested and proven. Gd luck

Is this applicable to yakjuxw build sets? :s11: How come telco sets vary from yakju to yakjuxw? :s22:

Rooting or unlock bootloader already void warranty. However, it's easy to revert everything back to stock (locked bootloader/unrooted).

Left a mark? I don't think service centre is THAT free to dig so deep just to see whether you have unlocked bootloader or rooted your phone before.

true. and I hardly think that they will be able to detect anything if properly returned to stock

Guess what. I went to the service center b4. When i got it back the bootloader is unlocked. I find something is fishy.

Fellow SG GN users, what baseband are you guys using with 4.0.4 based rom? in my case AOKP B29 with franco kernel R121.

Was using LA2, but don't think the connection is very good. SingTel user here, anyone got any good experience with any basebands? Recommend? :)

La2 works for me, starhub user here. Feels that after the update to 4.0.4, network connection feels improved.

I keep getting this 'New Voicemail' notification. Very annoying, always cheat my feelings.

Any solutions to disable the Voicemail notification?

Yeah, so if the guy from service center missed the check. You are safe, but if he finds out, your warranty will be voided. Not worth it.

Anyway my Nexus S imported from usa has not give me any problem, I think smart phones nowadays hardly has any problems, if there is, probably from day 1 would have been replaced or at the shop via inspecting.

Battery performance on day 3 of new GNex.

Not very heavily used, very moderate.
ROM/Kernel - CM9 4.0.4 nightly with BLN fully active

As long the bootloader is relocked, there is no way service centre can tell, unless the phone is left rooted and installed with custom ROM.
