GEMINI
PSA: Those on existing Google one plans billed annually please hold back on upgrading to the free trial (contact support for clarifications), seems like the new plan will supercede your ongoing annual subscription and convert your plan to monthly subscription. Furthermore, it is currently unknown if they will prorate the bill (for those with remaining months in your billing cycle) of your annual plan and refund credits for unused portion you paid for.

Very sexciting leh... I wonder if they will bundle Gemini with existing Google one plans in Singapore?
If we take a look at Gemini Advanced, it costs SGD 28.99 per month or SGD 347.88 per year, which includes the Google One subscription (2 TB of storage) and will come later with Gemini in Gmail, Docs, and more. on the other hand, the standalone 2 TB Google One subscription costs SGD 139.99 per year. it depends on what we actually want: (AI) features and storage or storage alone

No reason to skip older phones as it's integrated into the google app itself.

Should be coming soon, they want to fight chatgpt in terms of user reach.

i use gemini, copilot and perplexity apps on my phone.

for usual google searches, i replaced it with gemini. before app came out, i was using google bard since day one it was released. before co-pilot was announced, i was using chatgpt

unless i want more details, now i go to google on my brave browser. but for picture generation, in-depth questions or doing comparision, analysis etc, i use co-pilot. there is no need to pay for gemini, considering that its still in its early days.

sometimes gemini refuses to answer questions even when its not anything restricted or sensitive, so i switch to co-pilot and it answered it with no issues.

perplexity is just another backup, since most scenarios are already covered by gemini or co-pilot.

This “bisto” form factor tease comes from the latest Google app beta (15.6):

  • <string name=”assistant_onboarding_bisto_error_message”>Gemini mobile app is working on expanding availability to make it accessible on your headphones</string>
It’s the most explicit sign of Gemini’s expansion plans, while Google emphasized last week that it’s focusing on Android and iOS smartphones first.

Even if Gemini is enabled on your phone, Pixel Buds Pro still triggers Google Assistant (as you can tell from the voice and what capabilities you have access to).

Gemini for headphones will presumably bring generative AI-powered responses to the audio-only medium. Bringing it to earbuds, which has the benefit of falling back to the connected phone if something goes wrong, might be a safer start than Smart Displays/speakers.
