How is it against us when a few year ago it was 1:3?

in relativity, as far as GBP, SGD, USD are concerned bro

then again don't take this the wrong way,
but its up to your own judgement and wallet to opt to get from UK,
i only offer my POV, to get from US

The main motivation to get from the UK is for LTE that works in SG. Otherwise getting from the US is probably a better idea.

It's against you as you'll have to pay twice the fx spread. Any cc foreign currency transaction that isn't in USD is first converted to USD then converted to SGD.

You will need to buy from the UK however if you want a 4G tablet with LTE that works here - the US sets don't support our LTE frequencies.

New Nexus 7 to be a flop for Google because of Android, says analyst

New Nexus 7 to be a flop for Google because of Android, says analyst, Moto X to score a home run

KGI Securities' analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who monitors the smartphone and tablet industry, got a note out to clients after yesterday's Nexus 7 unveiling that the slate might be a flop for Google, or at least not sell the 5 to 7 million units that it is cracked up to ship.

He puts the estimate at most between 3.5-4 million second generation Nexus 7 tablets sold, citing lack of innovation on the software side of things.

Seriously, which planet is this ANALyst from ???

Even though I am a Nokia WP Fan boy (for the HP), I cant wait to get my hands on the latest Google Nexus 7 tablet. I just think there is no other 7 inch tablet that even comes close (next best bet is Amazon Kindle Fire 2013 model).

I also have a few friends holding Gen 1 of Nexus 7 or ipad, all say going to upgrade and buy the new Nexus 7 tablet ...

simple survey, you can see other brand forum on Hardwarezone SG, I know the number of posts does not mean actual demand, but least it is no brainer, which Brand cum Model has the most interest...

GOOGLE ASUS just take my money & give me my Nexus 7 ! :vijayadmin:

ah..I am in a dilemma now.. should I get the iPad mini 2 or the Nexus 7 Gen 2..

I already have the 3rd Gen full size iPad but hardly use it as it is too heavy!

Leaning more towards the Nexus 7 now as it is cheaper and I dun really like iOS

I sold my ipad3 after it was left rotting due to my nexus 7 and note 2 combined.

i hate LTE personally alot of reasons,
battery life: alot of shuns as far as this is concerned, nobody talks about it?
for eg on my S4 ppl say battery life sucks and thats because of the stupid LTE draining life as much as its screen.
i actually hope then can have the 3G LTE toggle :(
S4 or HTC One could switch band to 3G..the draining is not on LTE..mostly on Screen..(in fact applies to all android)

Anyway, if the new Nexus 7 is eligible for Amazon GlobalSaver shipping (more than USD125 and under 20lbs weight), then shipping it through Amazon should theoretically be free? Might take quite some time to reach SG though.

Just look at the Chromecast. Fits all the requirements, but specified by Google not to ship outside of US.

Luckily Amazon never block CGW or Vpost etc....but no free shipping for ya. :D

u can't do that...you can't shipped electronics from amazon to singapore directly....you still need a forwarder...don't believe me, try to order some electronics and ship to your singapore address and try to checkout....it will not be allowed..

the reason is due to electronics needs more stringent certification from each countries....

Dunno, just got my PTV3000 miracast shipped free directly from Amazon. :D
