I too finally got the M OTA. Has anyone tried encrypting their storage? What kind of performance hit do you get?

i cannot believe my luck... my N7 wifi just died on me! it will just shut down by itself within 2 min of power up. after that, it will keep failing to boot up properly. it will only boot up properly after leaving it idle for an hour or so. then after that, within a few min, the cycle begins!!! and I was eagerly waiting for the marshmallow update then this has to happen.................. anyone have any idea what is wrong??

Your motherboard might be dead ....unless if you're willing to shell some cash out to repair ,its probably staying this way ....happens to me too till I got it repaired at my neighbourhood mobile shop....mine kept staying in reboot loop over and over again.

My N7 wifi model seems to be more responsive and smoother; also the touch screen issues seem to have gone. My N7 is more than 2 yrs old and still going on strong - and with the latest Android M.

slight quirk with the Nexus 7...

auto rotate dun work so well.... a little annoying sometimes.. but in general its okay.

now the major problem i am having is when i have just update to marshmallow (!woot!). but i cant get to connect to my office wifi... seems to plague all the other marshmallow device...

I just found out only this morning - auto-rotate does not work on my N7.

WiFi is not a problem though.

Upgraded to Android M more than a week ago.

I had the same problem on the auto rotation. If you are adventurous enough, you can try remove the back cover and clean up the contacts of one of the flex cables. Likely the contacts us loose. You can find a few videos on YouTube.

Are you using a magnetic flip cover? It causes mine to work intermittently. A soft reset works but will come back again. So I ditched the cover and so far no problem.

You are correct; I removed the hard casing, and auto-rotate worked again. Thanks.

Fellow purists,
Would you recommend the Nexus 7 2013?
I've read that when updated to Android 6.0, it's damn smooth?

Buying for my Mum, cos the Nexus 7 2012 I have now is just too slow.
Thanks thanks.
